It was Chris Holt who wrote the inaccurate article about McClaren talking to Wednesday about the managers job, although Don did appear to support his colleagues article in his tweet.

I’m guessing the simple truth is that he like everyone else doesn’t have a clue who the next manager will be so there is nothing to write. No point writing anything manager related until he has something to write about.

A good journalist goes out and investigates what's going on, finds the news, uses his contacts to discern what's happening. A journalist who has nothing to write about isn't doing his job. It's not about guessing and making it up like we do on here.

Chansiri should ban all local journos from the club and go down the route of having a club sanctioned spokesperson that can give us all the 100% real genuine articles and stuff from the club.

What’s Comical Ali doing these days , I miss his insightful analysis of the gulf war . lol

I can't believe that I've just read that - incredible!

Are you joking? Have I been whooshed? Or do you really want control of expression and free speech?

You make it sound so easy.

Not a lot gets out from the club and hasn't for awhile. The reporters do their best and work hard. They probably do know stuff but don't report it out of request from the club.

If they go against the clubs wishes the club won't give them any information or allow them to come to press conferences/games.

He's a local reporter, that's his job. Not an investigative journalist.

this is the problem for them 1 man making decisions and therefore reduced opportunity for leaks

First It was Paul Thompson now it's Dom Howsom.  The guy is just doing his job and will know a lot more than what he actually puts in print. It may come as a shock to some but not everything that happens at Middlewood Road and Hillsborough is positive. Like Paul Thompson before Dom Howsom will want SWFC to be successful but there will often be things that happen around the club that he doesn't have any control over. Such as poor performances, such as delayed kits, such as high ticket prices, such as players having tantrums, such as players having a poor pre-season, such as having a clueless head coach. But let's all blame Dom for everything wrong at SWFC.

You would think our local Owls journalist would have been more active over the last few days. Hope you’re enjoying your time off Dom.

Yeah , Its shocking. He should have spent his christmas living in a tent outside the south stand seeing if anyone turned up at the ground. :picnic:

Say what you like about the Daily Mail, you'd get no argument from me, but reading his articles is time well spent  (IMO)

Do you not think these two won't have their detracters?

Well yes

I think most complaints against reporters are based on bland, ambiguous reporting of the obvious

but then they are tasked with production of say 250 words and due to lack of knowledge they are space fillers

It also needs to be recognised that reporters especially local sometimes have to keep quiet on stuff until an agreed release
