Adam Reachs left peg
Yeah agree send him back played well against villa but done little else
Miffed
Nonsense. Every time Butterfield got the ball he went forward. He went forward with the ball, his passing was always forward. Didnt do any worse than Kieran Lee IMO
Garry Powell
he might have gone forward after turning 360 x3 and then either over or under hitting the pass. Him and MM were rightly subbed at half time.
debram
Same as jones, coached to be negative, when going forward we have little creativity
torres
I think we have bigger problems than Butterfield, we can send him back of needs be Rhodes and Reach cost us £15m - ouch!!!!
oldishowl
Very difficult for our central midfielders when they are outnumbered. He ain't that physically strong so struggles when under pressure and has to pass back too much.

cowl
Thought he was very poor today, and he doesn't even look fit - in fact, he's been poor every game he's played since his excellent performance against Villa. It's almost as though that game took so much out of him that he's still recovering! He actually didn't seem sure of his role today.

Did he ever get out of his own half? It's pointless having Butterfield and Bannan as a midfield 2 as no one supports the attacks of threatens to get beyond the play, easy to sit in and defend against. Lee clearly hasn't been back to his best since his recent injury but at least gives the opposition something to think about by making forward runs and having an effect in the opponents half. BarnsleyOwl96
How can anyone seriously say he goes forward with the ball? He’s not the midfielder we need at the side of bannan we either need a big physical type OR a general who can actually get forward and strike a ball and thread passes

Unfortunately CC disagrees and brought in Jones, Abdi and Butterfield - basically a production line of the same clone.

Exactly , totally agree having that kind of midfield option and a direct wide player with place is a massive factor as to why we are where we are

He is an attacking midfielder not being given his best role. And does Bannan get forward enough?
rob1601
Send him back in January. Save on wages and help FFP To be fair to him, in the programme yesterday he did state that he is now playing as the manager wants him to which again suggests CC is stifling any forward thinking and attacking play.
