Cardiff 1 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday : OMDT

Recommended Posts

We've got to start getting that second goal if we can.

Like last season, I fear that there are going to be one too many instances of us dropping points from positive situations away from home.

Today reminds me very much of the game against Fulham.

Very disappointing result in the end but we seem to be on an upward curve.

Does anybody share my frustration with set pieces/free kicks, we must be the only team in the top two divisions that might as well give the oppos a goal kick, we don't even work the bloody keeper what happens in training because we never threaten from 18-30 yards out - usually Bannan and Wallace argue for who's going to put it on row Z so frustrating when we seem to get undone by late free kicks so often!

DSC_0202.thumb.JPG.5677f25f75da6c842964795cabbc74f8.JPGIn Cardiff today.. Went into bog for number 2.. Saw a plastic sticker  on a steel girder really high up peeling off ,(but too high for me to reach and remove when stood on the bog seat!) . Fair play to the taller guy that came in for dump after me.. I pointed this out on the way out.. and it eventually finished up here....

This is what bothers me - CC is conservative and tends to hang on to what he has - not a policy that will work in this league.

Except those two times it has worked for him  :manager: (Debatable in his first, but certainly last season)

It's impossible to say with any degree of certainty how a game would pan out if you kept playing the same attacking football for 90 minutes, rather than being more cautious after gaining a lead. There will always be games like today where you let the lead slip in agonising circumstances, but I'd expect this 'style' of play wins you many more points over a season than it loses.

Did you watch the game?

They had lots of pressure in the second half, but aside from the last ten minutes of desperation time they didn't batter us at all.  It was a good, contested game; and we absolutely dominated them in the first half.

I listened to it and in the second half they battered us. 4 times as many shots on target as us at a guess.

If we'd done that to another team I would say we battered them. It's a good point though if you take away the pain of that last minute goal.

Depends on your definition of working - if I recall it wasn't particularly successfully in the games that really mattered - semis last term and the final before that.

Gray frequently had had to employ these tactics as he had a much weaker squad and preservation was the order of the day. He was justified in playing this way.

Carlos has one of the strongest squads in the league and imo he needs to be much more aggressive with it - the quality is there.

Unfortunately I don't think he has it in him and it will likely cost us when it really counts - as it has the last two seasons

We did enough to win today and should have done so - points dropped.

Today is exactly why Carlso needs to go, he's a bottler.  A side with real promotion asperations would have gone on to win that  after taking the lead, Carlos ran out of luck today trying to protect a 1 goal lead.  He did the same against Forest and the same against Brentford who hit the post with minutes left.  We will never be promoted whilst Carlos is the manager because he doesn't have the b()()locks for it.

Much like you have no bo11ocks.

Amazingly absent during the recent winning streak and then magically reappear when we get a poor result to spout your usual sh*t and negativity.

A flipping parody of yourself.

Have a grip man.  I've been very critical of CC, but this is just complaining to complain.

I don't think for one minute he'll go but he's no where near capable of getting a side promoted.

Despite coming close on two separate occasions.

Who would you replace him with, oh enlightened one?

I suppose you can't be spreading more made up crap about our inevitable financial implosion (yep. remember you posting all that crap a month ago), so it's back to the manager for now.

So you managed to miss the Forest game despite it being on Sky too.

Of course.

Yep due to work, by the way what was up with the result today?  I'd have taken a 1-1 all day long, what i'm getting at is this is typical Carlos, and it's not good enough for promotion.
