Swiss Toni
6 hours ago, Great Big Galaa said: Category 1. Carlos Category 2. Same Goalkeeper, Same Backline apart from a new partner for Lees. Midfield Diamond with new defensive midfielder, Lee and Bannan the two in the centre with Forristier behind Hooper and Rhodes up front. Category 3. More expansive style at Home, a little more conservative Away. So you want to keep Carlos and pretty much use the same players meaning we will have no width and pace yet again. Sounds like a recipe for dejavu.
marcx666
Honestly the last 2 people wont even get a return call from DC seeing as they don't even know Bus is no longer with us. Terrible Director of Football there

Changes you think would put us in a better position to challenge for promotion next season. Put actual names against your changes. The rest of us will vote on your intended changes (scored out of 10). We'll then work out your average score per category, and then add your average scores per category to give you a final total. The winner will need to get his / her CV ready for any pending opportunities that may later arise at S6. Category 1 - who should manage the team next season? Category 2 - what playing personnel would you move on / bring in, and what would your starting XI look like? (for both home and away games). Category 3 - what would be your chosen style of play for (a) home games (b) away games You'll need to bear in mind that any ridiculous suggestions will impede your ability to score highly e.g. it's highly unlikely that Aguero will be wanting to join us. Let's give it a week before we look at the results. Have fun! Flawed premise on the basis that the DOF would have limited influence over tactics. That being said: 1. For the purposes of this, me, as you want to know my tactics and approach. In the real world, the Fulham manager (Jankovic?) or Pardew. 2. I'd keep Dawson and Wildsmith from the out of contract list. Sasso too as 4th choice centre half. Release the rest. I'd also being shopping out the following for transfer: Abdi Forestieri Matias Joao Nuhiu Melo McGugan. None of the above fit in going forward, and I'd like to recoup money to avoid FFP issues when I spend £50m on promotion. In terms of incomings, I'd like Izzy Brown (most likely on loan) or someone of that ilk, Chris Brunt, Kyle Bartley and 2 quick wingers with end product, not entirely sure who. Probably young Premier League loanees. I'd like a quick striker too but we're a bit overloaded. With the existing squad, I'd have a look at Lee at right back in pre-season; to see if he could do a better job than Hunt, in terms of defensive positioning and final ball. I'd get a specialist sprint coach in and look at the strength and conditioning staff, I want us to be the fastest fittest strongest team in the Championship. All things being equal, starting line-up is as follows: Westwood Lee Fox Lees Bartley Young quick winger Hutchinson/Bannan Brown Brunt Hooper Fletcher Wildsmith Sasso Reach Hutchinson/Bannan Young quick winger 2 Rhodes Winnall. 3. Approach at home is to press and win ball, get it wide and get it in the box early. Same approach away. Championship winning teams don't poo it away from home. This is our team and we're coming to do you. Edited May 20, 2017 by Tom Moore Typos
TomtheOwl95
Manager: Carlos Players: Mostly the same, few tweaks here and there. Style at Home: Play to Win Style Away: Play to win Fairly simple this isn't it? Do I get the job?

F. Spiksley
1. Carlos another yearly contract (see result of Hughton at Brighton - continuity please) 2. OUT: Forestieri - not required in my team Nuhiu - surplus Fox - surplus Buckley - surplus Jones - surplus Loovens - do not want to see a slow decline Emanuelson - best of luck Semedo - sorry but needs must etc. Take a bow son and get coaching in my academy McGugan - it's over Fletcher - harsh but fair IN: Yacob (WBA) boss cat Otávio (Porto) left wing Gomes (Man U) thanks José it's my round next Pritchard (Norwich) young and versatile Pérez (NUFC) -compliment our forward line up Gayle (NUFC) - needs no explanation Taylor (Villa) - left back Oxford (Reading) - centre half That would do for now with some outliers potentially coming in on loan from anywhere in my world wide scouting network such as; Saponara (Fiorentina) young attacking midfielder Pulisic (Dortmund) young right winger thinking of a Harkes type revelation Lopéz (Marseilles) young attacking midfielder Van Reijen (Alkmaar) young centre half Then I would be phasing in from the academy; Hirst - DO I NEED TO SHOUT MY EXPLANATION IN CAPITAL LETTERS SO PEOPLE UNDERSTAND???? Would consider also Clarke, Price, Penney, and O'Grady maybe after a summer assessment. 3. Playing style... hmm this is tricky a) At home my manager would set up as 4-3-3, this would suit my love of attacking football and can adapt to a 4-5-1 at any point because of the squad I have assembled. b) playing away I would opt for a more traditional 4-4-2 but would require my manager to flex and revert to the above 4-3-3 with my adequate bench at his disposal. Sounds like a recipe for dejavu. We're not a million miles away as the last two seasons show. I just think if we have a total clearout with the manager, players and tactics then there's more chance of regression than progression. Now's the time IMO to keep our nerve and have confidence and belief that we're still on the right track?

Pulisic from Dortmund, are you mental. One of the most highly regarded youngsters in Europe who has already stared in the champions league and you think he'd swop that for a crack at getting out of the championship. Unbelievable! I think he's had a detrimental effect on team mentality this season, and we've not seen a glimpse of what he's capable of this season. 3 - Stick to what WE'RE good at. But we need to pull the trigger more. Take the chances we create. Anyone that beats us playing that way deserve the three points. No excuses. Release all those out of contract; Dielna, Lachman, Sougou, Bus, Sasso, Semedo. new contracts for Wildsmith and Dawson. move Hutch to centre back and sign another; Maguire or Hanley. The key player to sign is a top quality centre mid who makes the team tick like Ticker Taylor back in the day. Huddlestone or (if Huddersfield don't go up) Mooy. Jackson Irvine if we can't get anyone of the above quality. unfortunately I think we need another striker to play the lone striker role.
