David Jones Stats

He's a good player.

Not the most spectacular, but he reads the game well and makes important interceptions.

Very good at keeping the ball and distributing it out wide.

Seems to be this season's Lopez.

Cant see the love of a player who just cant wait to get rid of the ball before he loses it. He cant tackle either..

Makes you wonder what Sean Dyche saw in him when he started every week for last years champions doesn't it?

Yes that's exactly what we need, players to move the ball about more slowly.

Jones has improved us a lot, because he has the discipline to hold his position. So often this season you look at us on the pitch and there is a huge gaping hole in the centre of the pitch where our midfielders should be.

Was an error of judgment from Carlos playing hutch instead of Lopez at Wembley. I hope if it comes to it he holds his nerve this time and plays the ball player instead of the destroyer.

Could you not make an argument to play both them...?

Easily

Jones has never been a merely defensive midfielder , we are playing him deeper than he has at other clubs.

Rather than having Hutch dropping so deep I would play him and Jones at the side of each other making us a lot more solid in midfield

A spine of

Westwood

Lees Loovens

Hutch Jones

Rhodes Hooper

would make us us very strong

Id like to see this also - Especially as Carlos likes to play his 'inverted wingers' - you could use Kieran Lee on the right of them and Bannan to left...? Wouldn't offer us that much width but it wouldn't be needed as the full back could push on...

Merely an idea... Love that spine that you've highlighted above!!
