We need to make sure SWFC doesn't ever do this

I can't help but think about when CC said in a Radio interview recently that he didn't get involved with agents.

I wonder if he was approached and gave them a huge F OFF tablet??

Will the Telegraph produce video evidence of any of the people who REFUSED to take a bung?? Thereby giving that person a boost to their integrity and to everyone's confidence in that person???

I doubt it

Well unfortunately no. Nobody buys a newspaper to read about how honest and law abiding people are. It's about selling newspapers and that's it.

When sky were interviewing the FA guy (Glenn something) they actually kept saying that he (Sam) hadn't broken any rules or laws. I think it just doesn't give the right image, a guy telling someone how to get round his employers rules.

It's ironic and a little sick that the guy who points out that the rules do not work is the guy who gets fired, not the prat who made such useless rules in the first place.

I have little doubt that some (ex) people at Wednesday have been involved in stuff like this in the recent past.

Hopefully it isn't happening with the current leadership.

Would be great if it was a certain Casino owner.

Ive recently finished The Secret Footballers latest book "access all areas" which went into detail coincidently on this subject and how common it was.

Apparently there are patterns to spot which basically follow the path of multiple signings from same league or nationality as these are usually how agents work with many clients in similar geographical areas.

A bit like when we went over to Portugal with Dave Jones and signed 30+ players who never played?

The other thing that really sickens me with all this is the label 'modern slavery' being attached to third party ownership.

I don't like third party ownership but to compare the life of footballers to that of slaves,  modern or otherwise,  is even by the standards of our media, nauseatingly ignorant.

It's one of the reasons foreign owners don't want Brits anywhere near their clubs.

That plus the Pearson -type diplomacy and crap tactical knowledge (just listen to Carlos for 5 mins for a complete contrast).

Also, why DC and others don't want a manager, just a coach so nowhere near money in transfers (you recall Carlos told 5 Live he never has to deal with agents).

Still , we don't want to be complacent because someone at our  club is dealing with these vultures and the midfield buys this year are a little strange, to say the least.

Or,to be fair, may be they thought FF would do one.

All this mock outrage is ridiculous......so Allardyce was helping someone get round the rules.....a bit like SIR Dave Brailsford helped SIR Bradley Wiggins get round their rules......a bit like folk come on here whinging and bitching when they get a speeding / parking ticket and wanting to know if anyone has any tips to get off.....heard Paul Walker say tonight that when he rang Tommy Wright his phone was switched off yet you can bet if someone had rung Walker and said "off the record do you want to know which pub Tommy Wright is drinking in tonight" he'd have taken the call and been off to said pub. - and I'd love to know how Tommy Wright taking £5k off a journalist is stealing money from fans, Barnsley or football in general.

Life is full of us all looking to bend or go round the rules (anyone ever taken a pen from work, made a personal phone call?) - its just magnified in the world of football because of the sums involved, the fact that its the most successful business in the Country and that our nature is to only let success last so long before we have to knock it down.

This post says so much about you, and less about life in general.

I calmly made my point. You need to spend a lot more time listening to your wise friend.

Is someone seriously equating taking a pen to taking a bung? lol

Keep up the good work, Ian.

Allardyce wasn't taking a bung.....but doing something against the law / rules....is against the law / rules....it's binary.......if you drive at 31 in a 30 limit you are speeding.....funnily enough that's exactly what you are doing if you are doing 70 in a 30

If you are shocked by this dodgy stuff , you don't know  this club's -and football's - history, even before agents were invented.

It's always been bent by a minority, just  like  corporate life and even public sector.

Never thought I'd praise DAILY TORYGRAPH with their oh so transparent owners and tax paying readers (Cameron's Dad et al).

I also hope the wholesome ones on here are not fiddling their tax, expenses, stealing their firms' telephone time and bills for personal stuff and checking OWLSTALK etc during working hours.

That would be really shocking.

His contract will stipulate that he is not allowed to carry out any work outside of the role as England manager, paid or otherwise. So clearly he was attempting to breach that.

The role as England manager should very easily be a full time role. The manager should be attending domestic matches to check on players, also the under 21s, meeting with the FA to seek guidance on things like how best to develop the game and in turn be passing this on the Managers/Head Coaches of the various teams with current England players. The manager should be helping to develop the game, spend time studying the opposition, in depth, and learning new methods and techniques to further develop our current crop of England stars players.

The manager should be spending time analysing each current player for their individual strengths, weaknesses and specialties.

FFS sake. This is £3M p.a. role. The manager should make it full time, otherwise he is not worth the money. And let's face it, on that kind of salary why would you need more money? It's just pure greed.

Like I said....full time in respect to normal football manager jobs not public sector 9 to 4.30 workers......even if he watched a match a day that's still only 2 hours filled and if you think the likes of Mourinho, Wenger, Conte and Pep will be inviting the England manager round to discuss how to best develop the game then you are living on a different planet.

Allardyce also made it very clear that any deal for him to do additional work outside his contract would need to be ok'd by the FA so he clearly wasn't trying to breach anything
