I'm looking forward to seeing how Jones fits in to our setup. Are we anticipating a starting position or a place on the bench against Leeds?

I'm expecting Jones to be a big player for us and a key player. With our vulnerable defence and lack of defensive options, he will be key for us sat in front of the defence. He was very good for Burnley in that role last season alongside Joey Barton, made them very hard to beat. We could've done with his experience and calmness against Burton the other day.

Why does nobody ever say "he's got a great right foot on him" about right footed players

But you always hear people going on about players having a great left peg or a sweet left foot, seems unfair to me

'Cultured left foot'. How the f00k can a foot be cultured?

WTF:

Jones has never played in the squad , Abdi has played 3 times , but you would leave Bannan out  even after his MOM performance against Norwich and selected for the Championship team last term . Wow 1

Strong squad, big decisions to be made.

Jeesus - just seen his photo on Wikipedia. He has a face that could make an onion cry.

Who cares how pretty or not the players look. If he plays near as good as he did for Burnley last year at this level, then we'll have a very good and vital player for us.

I think Bannan is definitely wasted coming too deep when receiving the ball, noticed that in the Villa and Norwich games where he had little influence in the final third despite seeing a lot of the ball and moving it around well.

I'm intrigued to see who steps down

I think we will play a diamond shape

Jones at the base, Bannan and Lee either side

Abdi at the tip

Fletcher up top

With Forestieri given licence to roam

No place for Wallace or Hooper

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

It's not necessarily the worst idea in the world, Forestieri likes to get wide at times, fullbacks obviously provide a lot of width, and we know Bannan and Lee can play wide at a push and work hard enough that they can both tuck in and push wide successfully when the play dictates

The more I think about it, the more I think this might be the way forward

A diamond midfield is one of those formations where the right personel is crucial. Tbh Jones, Lee, Bannan and Abdi seem perfect for it. On paper anyway. Fullbacks obviously providing most of the width.

Trouble is Wallace is bullet proof.

One of his favourites I reckon

Buckley is a better player who can offer more on that right side if he hits his straps at this level.

I think CC will give him a chance - Lee wasn't a dead cert when CC started but he forced his way in and has been a regular ever since.
