Miffed
Wow. Great season so far. I reckon it's gonna get better too. Loads round me yesterday were saying the same, we can feel it. It's got that aura about it. Something is stirring and it's something big. Said this to a mate last week. I dont feel like we're quite there yet, but you can see we are going to get better and better.... thats the scary thing.
dorian gray
the end of last season we took 'our defence' away from home to 'serious title contenders' it stood up very well, and it did it's job... i'm hoping our 'new' one will stand the 'test' when called for at the end of this season, against 'serious promotion contenders'... mozzy85
10 clean sheets so far, 15 games to go. Could potentially get close to last seasons total. Which with regards to all the injuries would be amazing! Well done to the team as a whole always working to get that ball back.

I Love Sturrock
If you discount the first 10 games when Carlos was getting used to league and we didn't have Bannan, Hooper or Forestieri, we're a top 2 team. I just hope we haven't left it too late.

Things are developing nicely and regardless of whether we end up being promoted we are on the up...exciting times. We've had to use the squad quite a lot, especially in defence, so to be only one goal worse off than this time last season is very impressive. We've been far from having a settled back five for much of the season: Pudil 25 league appearances Hunt 24 Loovens 22 Lees 20 Westwood 21 Palmer 10 Sasso 10 Wildsmith 7 Turner 7 Price 5 Hutchinson has played CB on 6 occasions, too. themaskedowl
No of goals conceded in last ten league games, working backwards, is: 0-1-1-1-0-2-0-1-0-1 ie 0.7/game which really isn't bad at all, especially so when mostly done without Tom Lees. More qualitatively, last season's defensive record was to a large extent the result of stellar goalkeeping performances. KW was MoM more often than not, which tells you something about the side. This season, keepers have been relatively underworked. Some interesting observations there. Over the same period we've scored 21 = 2.1 per game. Gives us a net GD of +1.4 Extrapolate forward - should end up with a +37 GD

Give me 4-3 anyday. You remember those four 0-0s in a row? They were the result of great defending. Conceding 12 goals in those games would have been more entertaining and would have given us more points, but the defending wouldn't have been so hot.The point I was making is that we're now playing much more attacking football but we're not actually conceding many more goals at all.
