HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
In my lifetime, the Blunts have only had one real quality player, and that was Currie. Deane was decent, Hirst was far superior. Edited August 7, 2014 by HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife. Dronny Owl
Mark Bright was better then Deane So was Lee Chapman, Paul Williams, Paul Warhurst and Nigel Jemson. But ask a Blunt and they'll swear Deane was the best and if he were playing now he'd be worth 50 mill

Hootie your far older than me ;) however my dad says this about Currie. I dont think in my lifetime I would have had any of their players over ours. TrickyTrev
Ask the most successful manager in premiership history with 2 Champions League titles under his belt who he thought was better in Hirst and Deane. There really is no comparisson.
Stoop
They've not been blessed with much talent in the past 25 years bless em In that time they'll probably name Michael Brown as their best player

Belfast Owl 2
Nonsense argument You've got to feel sorry for the pigs who force themselves to believe this stuff Go to any football forum and everyone will say Hirst

Rogers
Seriously FFS - did you ever see both play. You'd have to be mental to compare the two, Hirst was compared to Shearer, Deane was in the mould of Kevin Francis. Don't waste our time

lesbarbeux
Hirst/Dixie Dean would be worthy of debate......but Donkey, get real!
matthefish2002
Brian Deane better than Warhorse? really? As a forward Warhurst only played there for about half a season and was very injury prone after he left us. Yes would put Deane ahead of Warhurst. Think Deane was a good player. I am surprised no one has mentioned the Steel City Semi in 1993 when Deane had a very quiet game.
