shandypants
He can still play well up front on his own. And obviously in a different league with different players it might be different. There was a period of time last year when Maclean was injured, and May played with another striker who is small and quick. They didn't really have a partnership but May still scored lots of goals. He got a hat trick around Christmas time against Dundee United. It was beautiful. Noooooo!!!!!! Don't mention hatricks on here. Like tap-ins and penalties, they don't count. Shezza
Well that'll be half our under 30 Championship Manager Fanbase having a meltdown then. If he can't play in a 4-2-3-1 then I expect there will be tears before bedtime. I bet he'd love to play as a lone striker with Maguire just behind him in the hole. WalthamOwl
This lad may turn out to be a good signing for us (if he does sign) but for the money we are willing to spend on him 800k or so is there better players out there for around the same fee? Guess his wages wont be high though.

WalthamOwl
Westwood Buxton Lees Loovens Mattock Maguire Lee Hutchinson Maghoma Nuhiu May Sorted Decent line up that, only thing that worries me is that its a pretty injury prone line up. Buxton, Loovens Hutch especially. All 3 would be massive losses if they do get injured as we dont have the quality to step in
Corneliusreeve
Stevie May was arguably the best young player in Scotland last season. He missed out on this award to a left back of our rivals, Dundee United. He has just joined Hull City. If May has been playing for a more fashionable club like United, Aberdeen or Celtic then he would have easily won this award. Nobody in Scotland really gives St Johnstone the recognition we deserve and this is one of the reasons we have had so much success in recent years.-always being under the radar etc. Stevie May is a truly outstanding player. He scored 27 goals last year in all competitions. But he isn't just a goalscorer. His movement is excellent and is a nightmare to defend against because he often drifts wide so he can cut inside and shoot or link up with our other forward Steven Maclean. If he has one weakness. It would definitely be his heading ability. He only scored one header last year and doesn't provide any particular aerial threat. Don't matter we've got Nuihu for the headers. Guest AidanSSjfc
Is the Scottish league really that sh*t? No, it certainly isn't a pub league as many arrogant Rotherham fans have made it out to be. I'd say it's either bottom end championship level or slightly below
