Guest parsimmon Posted July 3, 2013 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Very sad to inform Owlstalk that lifelong Wednesdayite Dave died on Saturday.Amongst his friends we shared some great memories-Boxing day massacre,Rumbelows final in 1991,beating United in the 1993 FA Cup semi final and watching Chris Waddle help demolish West Ham 5-0 in December 1993.His comment immediately after the game being "How about that for a christmas box?" Like all of us he had his share of the lows as well as the highs but as we know "Wednesdayites are born and not made". A season ticket holder,one of the "highs" over the last few years was being able to enjoy the matchday hospitality packages and upon seeing him dining on his own at the ground,fellow Wednesdayites made sure that was a situation that did not remain so for long by making him welcome to join him at their table.This gesture maent a great deal to him. He was very proud to be a "Wise Old Owl". From all of his friends who shared the highs and lows of being a Wednesdayite. RIP Wise Old Owl.
