Give me Lampard or Scholes ahead of Gerrard every day of the week.

I can see why people put Gerrard in, and he would be close to getting in my own PL XI...but then I do wonder if he'd be getting into so many teams were it not for the fact he played for Liverpool?

I'm not sure a player who, brilliant as he was, but failed to win the PL title, gets in (or is even thought about), if he plays for anyone else.

There’s an argument for Van Nistelrooy to be included for me.

He’d have outscored Shearer if he played his entire career in England the same. He was untouchable for years.

Wasn't here long enough.

Great striker, but I think it was about four seasons in total.

There would be a long list of people I'd put ahead of Ruud. That's not a slight on him as a player (world class), but his contribution to the PL just isn't at such a level he can be getting in a greatest PL XI imo.

That’s actually a really good shout, forgot about him.

And Shearer would have scored even more if it wasn't for quite a few very serious injuries. And if his goals in the top flight before it was rebranded would have counted.

Ronaldo is there just because it's Ronaldo.

There are a good fewwho should be ahead of him, in my opinion, just to mention a few

Aguero, Salah, Rooney, Kane

I'd also be tempted to put Scholes or Lampard ahead of Gerrard.

Probably agree wit hthe rest.
