I can see why people put Gerrard in, and he would be close to getting in my own PL XI...but then I do wonder if he'd be getting into so many teams were it not for the fact he played for Liverpool? There would be a long list of people I'd put ahead of Ruud. That's not a slight on him as a player (world class), but his contribution to the PL just isn't at such a level he can be getting in a greatest PL XI imo. And Shearer would have scored even more if it wasn't for quite a few very serious injuries. And if his goals in the top flight before it was rebranded would have counted. There are a good fewwho should be ahead of him, in my opinion, just to mention a few Aguero, Salah, Rooney, Kane I'd also be tempted to put Scholes or Lampard ahead of Gerrard.
