The goalies

Recommended Posts

Another mistake today.

We can chop, change and mix and match the 10 outfielders all we want but we are yet again in a season where we don’t have a good goalkeeping answer.  More than anything that will really haunt us.  The number of important goals we are conceding from poor goalkeeping is a joke.

I would be trying to get a goalie in for January. It’s only a matter of time before the call for ‘westy’ to return is coming.

Aye and stop playing wingers an pd full backs as central defenders. We might stop the free headers from corners and free kicks then.

He's crap.

How many errors has he made this season? Must be 6 or 7 now.

There was some sketchy moments on Tuesday night too which nearly cost us.

We all know Wildsmith's not up to it and Dawson's future likely lies elsewhere.

Another huge problem on top of many we have right now. You can't be successful with a poor number 1.

Not really, it was a near post cross, like Cambridge, Morecambe, Shrewsbury...

It would be more of a surprise if he had done better.

It was far from the most powerful header and it was pretty much straight at him. It went through him.

Didn't need to be, the corner at Morecambe, flapped at it, OG.

Shrewsbury, dropped it. Cambridge, almost the same as today. Let a simple near post shot in v Oxford too.

I actually called it before in the prediction thread.

Maybe it’s just normal at this level for players to constantly be shanking the ball and making basic errors.

We’ve conceded 13 in 14 games even though half of them were GK errors.. it’s comparable with other sides near the top.

Our biggest problem is at the other end where we’ve scored 15 and the top 7 all have 22-26 goals.

Its a kick and rush league.. get the ball forward quick and the other teams will make mistakes and we’ll score more goals. The slow build up is killing us

We've shown in most games over a period of 20 mins we can dominate teams if we want.... The question is why can't they or why aren't they told to from the 1st minute. Why do people try and over complicate football.

Good GK's are like good Strikers,  they cost a lot of money.   It's not a "glamour" position...but can make or break a team.  With a good GK,  Wednesday would be in a much better place in the standings than currently,  even considering the poor form of the team to date.

I was hoping BPF was the answer,  at least until the end of his loan spell, but...
