Good that we’ve started getting young lads out. But it’s a couple of years too late for these lads to be playing at that level. Hopefully in the future we can start getting 16-18 year olds out on loan to clubs.

But it’s still a step in the right direction.

I agree. Why are the four 20/21 year olds going on loan for the first time. When they signed pro at 18 they should have been going on loan at non league level. Hunt is in his 4th year as a pro. Waldock 3rd.

It'll help Moore Find out what mentality the lad has.  Bit of a reality check playing with guys that also have jobs in the real world, see if he applies himself and wants to boss that diviosn, or if he just coasts through with a laugh and a shoulder shrug.

You look at the likes of becham, fergie had him loaned out to conference teams and then up through the leagues.

Beckham only ever went out on loan once, to Preston for one season.

For a squad player who played some first team friendlies that is a big step down.  Not sure I see any benefit playing clogger football in league 6.

Maybe he will get first team football, rather than sitting on the bench at a League club?.

Disagree , yes it would be nice at 18, players are now playing for longer , if it takes these lads till 22/23 to get to our kind of level they would have 10 years of football Approx, plenty of time .

Erm which Premier League teams were they?

Crystal Palace, Brentford and Leicester city were reportedly interested until he resign with us. But at the time he resigned he was going to be part of the first team squad not loaned out to the 6th division.

we would be better if playing him in the pizza cup games.

Players don't get to 22/23 before they get a chance.  I can't think of any of our Academy players who got their first chance at that age.  You look at the younger players we have released last couple of years.  They tend to get to 21 and if they haven't made it here by then they get released, Borukov, Ben Hughes, Jack Lee, Isaac Rice, Fraser Preston, Connor Kirby.  All of these got to 21 and then got released.  None are ever given a couple more years to make the grade.

yesh and none of those you mentioned went on loan did they? Point I’m making is hunt , dawson to an extent , waldock , hagan , galvin all young in their positions , come back and then we assess , maybe further loan if needed . If we don’t feel they are good enough we can look to cash in or can form part of our squad

That would have been agent talk. Happens all the the time with young lads. Remember when Ayo Obileye was going to sign for Spurs? Where did he end up?

Rather he played every week at men’s level than every few weeks in the Pizza Paint trophy.

So, what level of the game do people think a player who can't get a sniff of the 1st team picture at league one should go to?

If he can’t get a sniff at League One. Not even in the matchday squad. Why on earth do people think he’ll be a regular in the division below?!

Bizarre logic. This is about as good a move as he can get.

Yeah but you are forgetting that all our young players are like gods on here and are going to be the next big thing.

Just a few of the articles about interest from premier league teams, yes they may be sweeping up young talent but if he had gone to any of these teams  he would not be being sent out on loan to the 6th division which is predominantly a part time league. Everyone has their view but I person think there was interest from conference and league two teams our dithering in getting him loaned out meant no league teams but he is at least at the level Hunt has been sent out too.

If any of theses teams would have really wanted him. He would have gone to one of them.

If the interest from Premier League clubs was genuine, he would not have signed a fairly derisory 1 year extension at SWFC.

Agent talk. Nothing more, nothing less.

And I don’t think you can accuse us of dithering this summer. In the past yes, but this summer we’ve managed to get three young lads out on loan.

If there was genuine interest in League 2 for said players, they’d be there. But given they’ve ended up at National League or lower, I’d hazard a guess that the interest just wasn’t there.

Hagan has no professional appearances. Why would a League 2 club take him on?

Do you think those clubs never send players to non league?

Those "non-league cloggers" at Hampton & RB have players who have been at pro clubs - Spurs, Palace, Brentford, Stevenage, Gillingham, Newport, Millwall, QPR, Luton, Yeovil, Charlton, AFC Wimbledon and the pigs

Some have played professionally - others playing u18/u23 football

This is typical of upper non league these days - good players who have been at big clubs and may have fallen short - others had a good career but are winding down as they get on in years.

It's funny because i read the verdict of those who saw us play Newcastle u23's and pretty much everybody was quite surprised how far off being pro players the Newcastle players were

That's a premier league Cat 1 team

They would probably be somewhere around national league north or maybe the one below (northern premier?) if they were in a league on their merits

Some fans have an absolutely misplaced sense of how good the majority of u18/23 players actually are
