Pulis deal could be a LONG TERM one

It's interesting that they're drawing a parallel between Pulis and Wilkinson.

Wilkinson's spell at Hillsborough was a little before my time, but he seems very highly thought of despite an apparently dour style of play?

It was my first manager really - I was too young for Jack Charlton days

As a nipper Gary Shelton,  Imre Varadi etc - all my heroes

As a youngster you don't have expectations or analyse the games, you just see the green of the pitch, the blue and white stripes and the goals and crunching tackles

When you get older it changes and we start to argue and over analyse

The worst bit for me about it is that other fans will come along and trample all over your heroes and try to get you convinced your heroes weren't that great

SOD OFF I say - my heroes will never diminish and will always ALWAYS be my heroes

*disclaimer if any of you worship Carlos or Trevor Francis - all of the above does not apply to those two*

His football is worse than Monks. We have the perfect opportunity to rebuild, Again.

And what dose deranged old Wednesday do?

Employ this chuffing dinosaur, long term, which in reality will only be short term, as I can guarantee you, people will want him gone soon enough.

And it'll cost a chuffing fortune to get rid of him.

You'd rather be relegated to the conference than have Pulis?

Think that takes the award for dumbest post of the day.

I'm that against it. That's my strength of feeling on the matter.

Look, if you want pulis, your probably going to get your wish. He might keep us up? Who knows.

I wasn't arsed if we got relegated anyway.

Why do you support us?

No I'm serious, he's that bad and will be that bad for the club.

That makes no sense. What are you basing this on?

Excellent job at Stoke establishing them as one of the most feared teams in the Prem. Whether you liked the style or not, no one liked going to Stoke under Pulis.

Crystal Palace - won manager of the year and kept them up.

West Brom, really don't know much about his spell there. Win ratio isn't great, but Pulis left and they went down.

Boro, play offs and then just missed out on the play offs. Fans hounded him out. Replaced him with Woodgate who dragged them into the relegation zones, only to go and replace him with another dinosaur in Warnock. Perhaps Pulis knew what he was doing?

Look, it's not an exciting appointment but I question what fans really expect. The one thing that is positive about Pulis is his record. Never been relegated, very good win ratio at this level, will not let us be a soft touch which is most important for me. The amount of soft and sloppy goals and lapses in concentration we've had over the past few seasons is pathetic. I imagine Pulis will put a stop to this.

Who knows, I picked us when I was young and kinda stuck with it.

Was an ubur fan for a while. Knocked that on the head, long ago.

Look, you'll get your wish, it's a horrid choice, in my opinion. At least we know the football won't get your heart racing.

It's not my wish, far from it.

Just trying to think about the whole thing rationally rather than posting hysterical nonsense.

If you're not arsed about us being relegated then why get so uptight about Pulis coming in?

Makes zero sense.

Because I'm happy to take a step back, if need be.

OK would you agree that pulis, is short term, at best. Which will cost us more long term.

And its not hysterical, I just have a nasty feeling on this. I'm sick to death of the deranged short term thinking.

Why exactly will it cost us in the long-term?

It may well do.

I honestly dont know and none of us do.

If he comes in and at some point gets us promoted (a stretch, but still) then none of us are complaining, are we?

He's past it, an utter joke and his brand or style, belongs in the past.

So you would rather the club get liquidated? You can not like Pulis potentially getting the job, but saying you mean this is just nonsense.

No and then I'm hugely wrong and I'll be really happy to be wrong.

Good point.

Ok who would you like then?

Personally, Lowe for me, like the cut of his jib.

I know he's untried, but just got a good feeling he could be a decent one.
