On this day...

I still had to pinch myself when we signed the Waddler.

I knew that he was going to be good but I had no idea how good.

I thought he was going to be here for his last big pay day before retiring and just go through the motions.

What a waste of money, I thought when I saw the headline in The Star.

I was wrong, boy was I wrong.

In my top three players for Wednesday, beautiful to watch.

Remember his debut away at Everton, first game after they implemented the back pass rule, remember marvelling at how fast the game was in comparison to before.

I still expect the goalie to pick the ball up, just can't get used to it.  The goalies look so awkward trying to position themselves to kick it away, doesnt look natural.

He certainly was up there WITH the best.

Controversial opinion, but what if Di Canio played for us as long as Waddle did, would he be looked on as the better player? I think Di Canio was the more exciting player with just as much, if not more skill.

Ouch.......

My old man, a good judge of quality players, has always said that Fantham was his favourite and only one player came close to him in terms of getting him out of his seat and that was di Canio!

Sheridan was my favourite...🤭

Agree with ya dad on Di canio

Off the pitch a complete tool but on it he was excellent

Not had a more talented forward since

Ive always found it quite embarassing how Wednesday fans wet their knickers over Waddle,we signed him in his winter years, when all the leaves had fallen off and way past his best and we managed to coax the last drop of quality hed got in the tank for about 18 months, his best, most productive years were always at the clubs hed played for way before he came to Wednesday and yet some would have you believe he was a wednesday legend..........not by some distance was Waddle a Wednesday legend,he had an indian summer, but it was brief in comparison to others

Think this might be trolling.

But he was Footballer of the Year when he was with us. I dont think any other Wednesday player has come close to that since the War.
