Ideal Summer Transfers

I think it’s what we need, more than who we need. If we are to stick with a 352. We need both a proper RWB and LWB. 2 centre backs. 2 central midfield players and 2/3 strikers.

Looking at around 10 incomings this summer. Plus I’d imagine the club needs to learn to stop letting players deals expire leaving us with nothing. Westwood, Lees, Bannan and Rhodes are all out of contract in 2021. If the club don’t want them, or can’t offer those sort of contexts anymore then we need to be moving them on this summer for what we can get.

We've been trying to move Westwood on for the last 12 month's, it appears that no one wants him or his wages are too high.

Possible 12 players.

We need to also make a decision about Reach, Lees, Bannan, Rhodes, JVA, Palmer, Westwood, Urhoghide all first team players all out of contract June 2020. All either need selling, or getting rid of, this summer or signing to new deals.

I don't want to here 8-10 players leaving on free next season equally I don't want to read all the players wages being wasted with people sat in the stands.

A few we should go for who are all free agents as far as I can see, Luke Garbutt (LWB), Marcus Maddison (RW), Jackson Irvine (CM), James Collins (ST),  Alex Mowatt (CM), Nicholas Elison (LW), Danny Ward (RW/ST), Daniel Ayala (CB), Kyle Naughton (RB) - There are so many championship experience players who are free we will be stupid to pay any fee in the close season.

What,s to say we are not looking at those players, tho  Mowatt recently singed an extension to his contract at Barnsley, I agree with some of the others, as long as they are value for money.

With Covid 19 I think a lot of championship clubs will be doing the same thing

There will be a glut of players on offer both in the UK and EU, this summer.

What we must get is value for the money.

I will leave it to the scout/management of the club to sort out, I have exactly no input whatsoever.

12 months? He signed a new deal 12 month ago.

Point is even if it’s a season on loan somewhere and we contribute some of the wages it’s better than him sat on full pay in the reserve for a year.

I am not expecting us to be spending millions and buying players but there are so many players that will be free agents. Last summer we picked up Borner on a free and for me has been a good signing. When we had wasted £2.7m on JVA the season before, it just showed what you can get without spending money.

I just hope we are savy this close season and not wait till the last week of the transfer window. If the club are honestly wanting to rebuild under Monk then as soon as we know what league we are in (after the EFL hearing) we need to start talking to players and getting some signed up.

I couldn't agree more with you, but in the end it is up to the player, he wont even get a game in the U23's.

Reach,Rhodes,Westwood,Urhoghide aren't first team players out of contract.

Mowatt isn't out of contact,Bristol will take up the 12 months on Eliason,

My mistake I did mean the Wednesday players out of contract 2021 into the last 12 months of their deals

He's struggled with injuries for the past 12 months, but I'd be surprised if we aren't looking at Bailey Wright.

Just been released from Bristol City, having been club captain there for three seasons. Capable of playing in back four at full back or centre half, and comfortable playing on the right hand side or centre of a back three

But, it's not his versatility that I think is the biggest attraction in him. He's a leader. And at a good age. Since Loovens has left, we've had a squad inundated with "experience" but a serial lack of leaders.

This summer, it's all well and good trotting out the old "young and hungry" requirement for every player we should be interested in, but it's absolutely imperative we recruit a captain...maybe two.

If we're going to be bringing in a lot of younger players, they'll need leaders to lead them.

It's a risk because of his injuries over the past 12 months (although before that, he's been very reliable), but what he could bring off the pitch could be invaluable.
