Why James Beattie didn’t come with Garry Monk

I don't get the Beatie situation.

Gardening leave is intended to apply for your notice period. The implies these back-room staff don't have notice periods, but surely they can resign under employment law.

How is it possible for an employer to control your employment for the length of the contract without any severance/resignation protection.

It's also odd that Birmingham would want to continue paying someone for two although he's technically left his job. If they have an issue with Beattie, sue him for breach of contract. It's all very petty, and presumably Brum's conditions only apply to championship rivals?

well, thats how contracts work, dont they? you sign up for a 2 year phone contract, 5 year player contract, you cant just say "here's my 4 weeks notice, I'm off"

Depends what’s in the contract.. sometimes there’s a break clause or a severance figure. If Birmingham weren’t happy to pay his wages then they would let him go for another club to pay them instead. Surprising they would choose to hold out for compensation when it’s costing them money which they could save by allowing him to sign elsewhere

So we demand compensation from Newcastle for Bruce & his 2 assistants but won't pay compensation to Birmingham for one of Monks coaches.

And from the reports we got a hell of a lot of compo. Ridiculous we wouldn’t pay some to get who Monk wanted.

Yes men, all of them.

Get rid and get people in who know and love the shirt, and install some passion......

I'd keep Weaver as Goalkeeping is specialist coaching and he hasn't been around the first team squad that long plus Lev Yashin would struggle to turn Dawson into a decent keeper.

As for Bullen and Thompson, they've been around the club 7/8 years. It's time to freshen the coaching set-up just like the playing squad?

come on now, didn’t you know money grows on trees and it can just be spunked away 24/7?

Certainly does when some what to criticise the club...couldn't make it up .. we should have spent even more money!

Next season is probably already a write off with Monk in charge so would rather we didn’t waste more money bringing in his chosen assistants. Clear the lot out and start again

because a manager to be judged fairly needs his own people around him, people he knows and trusts. I’m not the biggest fan of Monk but I think it’s very unfair he has to work with people that he didn’t choose.

Monk deserves a chance at the club with his own staff and his own players.

This will be a step in the right direction.

He deserves sod all chance. He's another Jos and it's about time we stopped giving chances to these useless tw@ts that can't man manage the squad they have plus play f***ing sticking pins in your eyes football. Go and get Lowe before it's too f***ing late.

Sooner Monk can bring his own people in the better. People like Bullen and Weaver etc need to move on.

2 wins in the last 14 league games.

Monk has had his chance for me.  His contract here is up next month.  We shouldn’t extend it.

Don't think so - yes it's a fixed term contract, but anything could happen during that period, which means you may want to resign.

Are we saying you simply can't resign from a job? I understand a player being held under contract, as the club would want to protect the transfer fee they paid, but a coach?

If the players have changed why would you need to change the coaches?

They'd be talking to totally different players wouldn't' they?

There's this disease amongst some of our fans that forces their brains to only look at former players of this club whenever a manager or coaches position is available

I am pretty sure other clubs don't suffer from this disease, so why do our fans suffer from it?
