Then again, culturally maybe Thai people see Buddhism like that. Mine was Soto zen which is less fancy. ...to add to this, it kind of removes responsibility if we say that what happens is down to bad luck or bad karma. Means we don't have to look at our part in it.. Anyway, whatever. Maybe it will work , what do I know.
