So basically if Monk & the squad had done their jobs in the 2nd half of the season the 12 point deduction would have been applied to the season just finished & we'd be starting the new season on a level footing with the rest of the Championship.

makes some of those pathetic performances and results even more annoying.

Think we already knew this (or at least strongly suspected), but yes

Never looked like a footballer to me, Gregory

He is a qualified electrician though.

Read it again.

The report said the penalty for the first breach should have been imposed before the end of the 2018-19 season. However, that would not have sent the club down in that campaign — so the EFL went after them in the season just ended.

That's the season before the one just ended. So they couldn't even get their act together the season just ended either.

Nothing to do with Monk. They wanted to relegate us full stop.

Looks like they vwere waiting for us to finish 11 points outside the relegation zone some season, any season, but in the end had to make it -12 before the season starts

The question is why didn't they deduct the points in 2018-9. Hopefully the report will say.... maybe that is sufficient ground ls to appeal and they have to backdate the penalty to the appropriate season so it complies with the rules and has no impact

Sh*t me.

How furious would you be if we were in Charlton's position? Yet more spectacular incompetence from the EFL. Perhaps we should hand our player of the season award to them as well, seeing how they did more to keep us in the Championship than anyone else? And also serves to underline just how stupid our financial 'strategy' was.

If this is true it's a disgrace. So they waited to charge to ensure penalty not applied when it should have been (2018/2019 because we would have stayed up)

Then reading between lines were happy for case to drag on as we were top half of table before Xmas so 12points meaningless but..

Only tried to rush case through in June because of our bad form and they thought they could relegate us.

Sounds like they were manipulating their own system to make an example out of us.  If true can expect chansiri going after EFL big time.

If he does he has to have a watertight case and must result in all the incumbent EFL decision makers being forced to step down otherwise this will never end for us.

They have to shown to be unfit for purpose.

It's us that should be furious mate.

Report says they should have charges us for FFP in 18/19 when we would have easily survived with a 12 point deduction.

They then wrecked our season last year bringing charges in November.

They were after a big club to send down to set an example / warning to others after Birmingham's deduction didn't matter
