gurujuan
Strangely enough, I wouldn’t be anti signing him, except it would be another 28 year old.

Not bad if you give them 2 year deals and wages that fit within the existing squad. I do think the club actively realise they need to recruit younger players and have attempted to do that ever since Bruce.

He's a winger... We'll he was under Wagner when Hudds went up. They played 451 with Wells up front. Edited August 13, 2020 by kristmace

Remember both Bruce and Mr C announcing last year, that we would be looking to do most of our recruitment from the development squads of the big six. In the end, they did nothing of the sort. Players like Kachunga, Dunkley and Windass are hardly youngsters

WalthamOwl
At the minute we could guess 3 of our attacking options next season will be Rhodes, Kachunga and Windass. Do they really look like scoring the goals we will need from our attackers? If we do have those 3 we would need to bring a goal scorer in as well. The 2 of Windass and Kachunga are players however who are used to playing the wider positions...... if they come to us

We will sign a big strong forward, Monks teams always play with one.

Hopefully it won’t be a static version this time, maybe a big strong and quick option Think we’d have more joy finding a player like that on the continent

Mick70
Wouldn’t be surprised if jukewitz became available? Kranka fell out with him at boro monk worked with him at Brum, if affordable could see him being target man up front? Scores a few and a pain in the arse to play against? If no other option Chris Martin aswell? Know he now 32 but scored 15 for derby last season and is a nasty horrible pain aswell? Gona be a scrap this yr needs players like this ? deano
A strong forward is fundamental to how Monk likes to set up, given our collapse when we lost Fletcher you could certainly make the point that we should sign 2.

He's a proper centre forward, but still has 2 years on his contract and 31. Not a long term.option, but for a season could certainly do a job. Think our collapse had more to do with leaving out Hutchinson We were still crap when Fletcher returned 1
Mick70
Think we need to treat this season as a one off? No good signing fancy dans that ain’t up for a scrap cus let’s face it that’s what this season going to be? I for one will settle for 4 th bottom at this moment in time? Re jukewitz if kranky wants him gone he’ll go not nes to us like
