Inspector Lestrade
Been saying it ever since Joao and Hooper left that they need replacing. The forwards we have a the moment are simply not upto the job of being above average Championship players. From time to time they produce but to often its glaringly obvious that we need so much better. Have been surprised that we didn't have any lined up as soon as the transfer window opened, it appears we only start looking when the window opens. Hopefully by the end of the week we do get someone in but I fear that we will be hearing, 'we have tried but we can't get them the over line'. Looks increasingly likely that we will not be getting anyone and will be relying on what we have. Therefore bang goes promotion.
McRightSide
Well obviously. We desperately need the following: 1 x LB 2 x RB 1 x RW 4 x CF From a contracts perspective I would retain Fox and Dawson, I’d keep Kieran Lee if we actually use him properly. The rest can go. Guest wilyfox
We're crying out for some presence up top. Wickham or Hugill would be a godsend.
ozzieowl
We prob have worse strike force in the league tbf.
McRightSide
I’d release Nuhiu and Fletcher and see if we could get Matt Smith enticed away from Millwall as our battering ram option
Kopparberg
How Monk has got us this far with our forwards is incredible. We need 2 in this month. A new wide player would be nice too.
Mr. Tom
Unbelieveable that we're in this position now, after 2015-17's insane period of buying strikers like they were getting discontinued.
gurujuan
A major flaw is our insistence on playing two wingers, or two wingers who offer little or no goal threat. It means we need, either a prolific striker in the lone forward role, or if we play two strikers, our midfield just can’t cope My concern is, we will just try and replicate what we had prior to Fletcher’s injury, meaning we’ll still have the same issues

Costello 77
I hate to say this because he beats me in arguments.. but DJ Mortimer predicted exactly this when we seemed to have a surfeit of forwards...the infuriating clock..

We were up to 3rd before Fletcher fell ill and got injured. This team needs that type of forward to function.

Last 2 games prior to this. Murphy - 1 goal Reach - 1 goal, 1 assist Thats in the first two games that we’ve set up this way. That means they been directly responsible for 100% of our goals in the last 2 matches before Yesterday.

mcmigo
Highest scorers in the league away from home we lost five nil yesterday. would we benefit from better strikers ?yes. But the defence and midfield lost us the game yesterday. I can’t recall Winnall or Nuhiu missing the 6 clear cut chances that would have won the game 6 5. agentwalker
We basically need a whole new team and a new mentality. Existing players such as Bannan, Hutch etc, on their day are decent players but no matter the tactics used these players will always reset to default and play their way. I honestly can't distinguish our tactics from say Dross at the moment, we've just been very luck that teams we've played have missed absolute sitters game after game. At least with Bruce you could see something, you could see the players were fitter, you could see the effort and the closing down game after game. I know people will say its early and he hasn't got his own players in or had a preseason but by now you should be able to clearly see what the mangers imprinted on the side. Honestly at the moment i'm not seeing anything. He doesn't know if we should play from the back, play it long, build through the middle or use the wings, and neither do the players. S36 OWL
Take out Fletcher and the rest of our strikers have contributed EIGHT goals between them all season, and three of those were in one game at Florist. Speaks for itself.

2soon
Before yesterday we were decent scorers and very good defensively. Today we are decent at both. if we had won 2-0 yesterday we would be very good at both....
