Monk didn’t make the players fall asleep for both of their early goals. If we had won the last 2 everyone would be back to singing his praise as they were when we beat Bristol City. Give it a rest. The man is working with a team that is still 70% of the Carlos era. We need to actually stick by a manager and let him build the team, if not we will always be stuck in a transition period. Our fans expect too much too soon. The OP isnt the result of too much too soon, just too much Brandy sauce.
Athelwulf
Three very disappointing results on the bounce, hence the angst, but league-wise we're roughly where we are at the mid-point. We're not an automatic promotion-winning team, and Monachus will know that better than anyone. Such a team has consistency, and players who'll scrap for 98 minutes to get something out of every game, no matter how bob they play. We don't have enough of those types in this outfit, in fact it's debatable sometimes if we have any. This isn't Monk's team, remember.

Mr Farrell
No change of opinion. Still way to early to blame Monk, when everything else at the club is so badly run. That said, he's had a very very average start, and needs to raise his game. People aren't going to keep paying top whack to watch bilge.

gurujuan
Sadly for me, this was all too predictable. When he was appointed, I said that Monk was a very average manager, and certainly not what was needed. You don’t appoint somebody who is clearly wrong for the job, just because there appeared to be no suitable candidates. We may as well had left Bullen in charge while we did our homework, looking for Bruce’s successor The only good thing is, it appears that Monk only has a one year contract. Monk was an uninspiring choice, albeit from a rather uninspiring shortlist

Owls Loyal
DC went for Monk when he could not land Chris Hughton. Monk has been a miserable failure at SWFC. He has created a toxic atmosphere and the team has given up the ghost. Meanwhile Chris Hughton has not secured the Premier Leagure job he so coveted. That certainly makes you think that we should approach Hughton again.

I try not to be bias when judging the job he's doing at us, but bloody hell he's sucking the life out of the place. His tactics are borderline Jos territory. How can you possibly, come up against the most physical team in the Championship, who have the best header of the ball in the league (Flint) and decide it'd be a good idea to play Sam Winnall up top by himself and have a game plan of 'lump it to his head'. How would that ever work? Then to make things worse, you're making a substitution, you need an injection of pace and you're trying to change the game, you decide to take off IORFA! The only player showing any drive, pace and desire to win. It's baffling. And here's some harsh truth to the Fox fan boys, but he isn't good enough for a team 'chasing promotion'. Harris plays better with Palmer behind him, he'd probably play even better with Reach behind him. His handling of Jordan Rhodes is shocking, the guy scored a hatrick a few games ago, leave him in the bloody team for 10 games, let him have a proper run. Don't leave him out again because he's not scored in 2/3 games and replace him with Reach (was he supposed to be upfront/behind the striker?), Jesus Christ. Confidence shattering. It's too early to pull the trigger, but we shouldn't have employed this guy in the first place. This will be his last Championship job. He's doing the worst you could possibly do with the players available. This years Championship is poor, and we could be doing alot better if we picked the right team with the right tactics. You sir deserve an apology of epic proportions 1

It's very worrying. The worst thing is, because we have no director of football etc in place, no senior stakeholder is here to see the awful performances/tactics and atmosphere at Hillsborough. So nothing is going to change.

Agreed, Hughton said he only wanted to manage a PL club. Which there was no chance of back then and even less chance now. So his attitude and level of self worth is questionable and for that reason. I’m out. Any manager who doesn’t want to spend one season getting a championship club promoted to the PL, so he’s then a PL manager again, isn’t the right person for us.
