He he knew how to manage the likes of Carbone and Di Canio and the results could have been spectacular! Exactly. That 97/98 team looked awesome after a terrible start under Pleat. Thanks for that Dave Richards

Think Pressman said in his second spell he was the least interested Manager in his time at Wednesday. Was like a different person to his first spell where he was a breath of fresh air. As for Dave Richards, the man wants locking up because his actions were criminal.

toppOwl
Richards made some mistakes and he had his eye on the job with the FA at the end but he's still our most successful chairman in recent memory, lets not forget that.
Prince
Richards was so far up his own rectum it was unreal. Richards is a complete C U Next Tuesday who ruined us for his own ego and a job on the FA

I don't agree, Bert McGee appointed Big Ron and the success on the pitch was built from there. For me to be a successful Chairman then surely you must leave the club in a better state than when you joined,I don't really think that can be said for Richards and the mess he left after he secured his dream role.

And wedged himself firmly on the side of the blazers who have held the FA back for decades. PeteG_1984
Weird how there’s always someone ready to defend Dave Richards. He left us in a state that we took 15 years to recover from financially and still haven’t recovered from on the pitch.

But I don't recall anyone complaining at the time when signing the likes of Waddle, Sinton (big letdown but was great to beat Arsenal to his signing) etc, going to Wembley 4 times in 2 months and genuinely competing at the top table of English football for a couple of years. Hindsight is a great thing.
