Is that the same Jack Stobbs who cant get into Port Vale's team?

Maybe Port Vale are doing really well in League One and he cant quite break in?

Wait. They're in League Two?

Well they're probably romping away with League Two then...

They wouldn't be there if they let lil' Jack play :baby:

Penney's a left back and honestly Fox is doing absolutely fine

Venancio I've already written off, not because he isn't good enough but because he's fast starting to look like "one of those" signings we're so used to seeing

The Stobbs suggestion is laughable. He won't be a league footballer by the time he's 23.

Hirst lol

Nuhiu lol

Sean Clare, now there's a bloke we should think about getting into the matchday 18. And Penney on the bench for sure

Either Venancio or van Aken needs to play at centre back, Loovens is past it. With a more competent ref he'd have been sent off within 5 minutes for the second time of the season. Given van Aken is our player for the long term he should probably get the first look in but it doesn't half feel stupid watching Venancio turn into yet another Lachmann/Emmanuelson who just never plays.

Hard for a young player to break in and shine in a side playing badly and with no confidence at the bottom of the table. We'd be probably see a totally different stobbs if Vale were up near the top and playing well. Most managers know relagation dogfights are no place for kids, stubborn old warhorses are needed to do things right and follow a game plan to try and grind results out, probably a bad call by us to send him their. Needed to be at a good solid mid table side with no real ambitions allowing him to play his game and develop.

Really??

Non of these are better than the current first team 11.

It doesn't matter who you bring in if the style and system is as negative as ours. We could make Messi look like a passenger

Like to see the kids given some time on the bench, a bit of an unknown quantity and should have been given a cameo or two here and there after last season brimming with confidence enthusiasm, energy and a bit of pace. Things we do seem to be lacking at the moment, we seem like a side just content to drift along hoping we get a result rather than going out and getting one.

Wait. Are you being serious?

There wouldn't be a different Stobbs because if they were playing well he wouldn't be in the team. If he cant get a look in when they are awful why would they pick him if they're doing well?

I feel sorry for Stobbs, he looked a prospect but he had that bad injury and he's just not the same. He shouldn't be anywhere near our first team.

How do you know they aren't? Would you have said Rashford was better than anyone in Man U side before he burst on the scene? Or even Brooks at the Pigs?

They need to be given a chance to find out.

As I said a relagation dogfight is no place for inexperienced kids. That's probably why he can't get in the side. I'm not saying he's premier class, or ready to play championship football for us, I'm just offering a valid reason why he's not getting a game. I know just like Carlos doesn't like playing young players as he has no confidence in their ability to follow a game plan rigidly for 90 mins, so the same problem with being at the bottom and in a hole, you can defend for 80 mins and an inexperienced kid can make a daft decision they can get away with at u23s level and it can cost you.
