Carlos and the 5 year brexit rule

Recommended Posts

On some levels football does seem to be entirely separated from reality.  In fact, that's part of the attraction: we can all dive into a parallel universe of dreams, emotions (+ endless forum chat) as a distraction from the "real" world.  Then there's the money - crazy crazy money - which adds to the illusion of football operating on a totally separate dimension.

However, football doesn't operate totally within a vacuum.  Clubs are businesses: exchange rates, inflation, tax (as SWFC should well know!) etc are realities.  Therefore, the Brexit deal is absolutely relevant.  British born players won't be effected by Brexit - greater certainty = higher price.  Makes perfect sense.

As for Carlos having to pack his bags, negotiations take a long time: Chansiri (not May/Junker etc) will be the one deciding CC's future for some time yet.

It does impact players though .

Who was that guy we wanted to sign from Leeds but couldn't get a work permit?

Really wasn't a Carlos out debate. Just trying to discuss something else rather than made up transfer rumours

You're reading way to much into brexit. You really think anything will change ? It will all be an illusion. Wherever we stay or go , it won't make no difference to normal folk. We will be left with debts if we stay and if we leave so the reality is ....... it means roger all

Instead of negging Muffin Man, why don't you tell us this is wrong.

The 5 year grandfather clause will exist that is a fact.

The eu players will just have to qualify for work permits like anyone else would. Still means the world best can come here, but the mediocre players like Matias and Joao wouldn't and they'll be replaced by English instead. Can only be a good thing.

By the time the watered down soft Brexit arrives we will hardly notice any difference, however when have foreign players/managers been a problem?

There is no soft brexit...we will be out...but the foreign footballers don't want to live here do they?

If there isn't already a law against stealing a living there should be, Matias would be a lifer.

Don't worry. Brexit won't happen. The Cosmopolitan Elite have it all stitched up.

I don't understand why so many people fell for the "the EU are crooks, bureaucrats and pointless" bolloxcks. We managed to build the fourth biggest economy in the world whilst in the EU. It's not like life was terrible before the referendum. It could be argued that many of the big names that pushed for Brexit are the types that don't like EU employment laws and the irony is that the people that need those employment laws are the same silly fvcckkers that voted for Brexit.

Can't see how the proposed rules really impact on anyone already here so Carlos and any EU players will continue as normal.

If your here 5 years you stay, if your here already but under 5 years you stay and can build up your years. If you arrive during the grace period you stay and can build up your years. After the cut off low rated EU managers/players might struggle to get past our new immigration system.

However Carlos and our current EU players are fine to carry on as they please.
