Westwood

Palmer ( neither choice is appealing)

Lees

Loovens

Fox

Mcmanaman

Hutchinson

Abdi

FF

Rhodes

Winnall

Yet again another thread where Wallace gets left out.

Huddersfield Home - Wins us game.

Brizzle City - Gets us a point

Wigan - Gets us the win.

So lets drop a player who is winning us points.

OP, you'd drop Wallace after he's scored 3 goals in our last 4 games? Wow!

Westwood

Palmer (I agree with the OP here, neither are inspiring)

Lees

Loovens

Fox

Wallace

Hutchinson

Bannan

Reach

Forestieri

Rhodes

Why can't Wallace be dropped for some fresh ideas?

Yes, he's scored in the last 3 games. Great. I'm a fan of his myself. But I want to see CM play 90 mins on the right, putting in crosses for 2 strikers to attack.

Jordan Rhodes was isolated last night, and the exact same thing will happen if Carlos plays the same team, apart from 2 changes at FB.

Last night all he did was score that goal and was anonymous aside.

What's to say, some else couldn't contribute a goal and create more in the match?

Wallace and Reach as wingers isn't going to work for Rhodes.

In a team that can't score, you would rest Wallace who has scored 3 in 4?

Why not?

If we played CM and FF wide, with 2 strikers up front, we'd create much more opportunities, that would lead to more goals.

We only had one shot on target last night.

I don't want to see Rhodes isolated up front again. It's just a waste.

Wallace can be dropped, but he will not be and he shouldn't be. There's no coincidence that he's returned to goalscoring form since McManaman has come to the club.

He deserves his place at the moment but he will not last 90 mins.

Team on Friday will be:

Westwood

Palmer

Lees

Loovens

Fox

Wallace

Bannan

Hutch

Reach

Forestieri

Rhodes

Reach played on the right for a while last night, which opens the possibility of a Wallace < Winnall change in the second half with FF moving out to the left and Reach to the right.

Absolutely, I just posted in another thread how I don't think we have the crossing ability to play with two wide men. Our full backs can't cross, and Reach and Wallace aren't that great at it either. But we do have very neat and tidy central midfield players so I think we should overload that area in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation.

I think Reach is good at crossing, but for the majority of the time, he's only got one striker to aim for.

I like Wallace, but he very rarely puts crosses in that can be attacked. The majority of his crosses come from deep, and they're in-swinging crosses, again: aimed at one striker, who's normally got 2 defenders to beat.

Callum McManaman should be given 90 mins on the right wing. Because he can put crosses into the area at pace, which guys like Rhodes and Hopper thrive on.

Scoring a goal is quite a big contribution.

Wallace is not going to work for Rhodes? Our best crosser? Ok.

I've been suggesting McManaman get more than 10 minutes. He got over 30 yesterday and did (almost) nothing.

Reach is a bit marmite. I'm disappointed, but many think he's putting in MoM performances. But he does offer flexibility which allows the team to change formation. He's a good player to have on the pitch.

For me, a return for Lees, Hutchinson and Fox.

Id like to see Winnall and Rhodes up front, or with FF in a front three, but I expect FF and Rhodes.

I'd like Abdi to get some game time, but in the little I've seen of him he is just so average. Comfortable on the ball, but "safe" passes. No drive and none of the chance creating passes I expected when we signed him. Bannan has his faults, but he does drive forward and create chances for the forwards.

Westwood

Palmer, Lees, Loovens, Fox

Wallace, Hutchinson, Bannan, Reach

Rhodes, Forestieri.

IMO because in a team woefully short on goals, you can't possibly drop a player who is on a scoring run.

Dont know about you but when I played I was never prolific, but when I scored I generally scored over the next few matches. There are many players who do likewise. Wallace is in such a run and needs to keep at it.

CM looks really decent and will get a chance at some point, whether it be left or right.

When does Wallace get down the wing and get a ball in the box?

Yes, he scored, but someone else could have scored it and contributed more in the match.

There's no creativity in that team.

Bannan and Jones should never be paired again.

Wallace and Reach don't attack the wings enough and put in good crosses.

Rhodes again would find himself isolated up front.

We only had 1 shot on target yesterday, yet you'd want to play the same team at home?

I'd have Wallace in instead of McMannaman as he's in some good form, 3 goals in 4 games is it. Can't leave him out really.

Nobody should be guaranteed a first team place.

Let's have some fresh ideas that benefits the team as a whole.

So: It's not okay to drop Wallace from the team because he's scored 3 goals, yet it's okay to play a £10m striker up front on his own, who's isolated?
