darra
Bit harsh? He stumbled and fell into their player so yes it probaly was a penalty but not sure about the card as it could be argued it wasn't deliberate. 3 match ban as well. Wonder if we'll appeal it? mark77
Regardless of what you just said. It CANNOT be a red card anymore under the new rules. Has to be overturned by default.
S36 OWL
I thought the double punishment rule had been scrapped ?
Miruic
We will appeal it. It will be rescinded. Can't be a red in the box this season unless a dangerous foul. Triple punishment rule.
darra
didn't know about this new rule as always seemd harsh to give a red double punishment
MAL
It wasn't a red. He got a yellow, his second, which resulted in a red.
seanus
FROM THE FA WEBSITE RULEBOOK 2 yellow cards - 1 match Denying obvious goal scoring opportunity - 1 match Offensive/insulting/abusive language or gestures - 2 matches Serious foul play/violent conduct/spitting at an opponent or any other person - 3 matches So just 1 game then? mark77
A lot a new rules were brought in before Euro 16. Hence the reason kick offs now go backwards. Red cars can only be given in the box for dangerous play or violent conduct. Any other foul, such as tonight, is a yellow and a penalty. Carlos and bench were going barmy at 4th official. Lets be honest though we got "yet another" ref. One of the linesman was decidedly suss too, even when he could keep up with play.
Night King
Isn't it a one match ban? Thought it was odd with the new rules. Looked like a deliberate foul to me from a mile away.
Beholder
3 match bans are for violent conduct aren't they? Surely it's a 1 match ban.

WayneTheOwl
Was a straight red, not a 2nd booking. Wasn't a red card under new rules. Should be overturned no problem that one.

Ian
Christ the lack of understanding of the new rules is astounding.....the only change is that if the player has made a genuine attempt to go for the ball and commits a foul in the area then it's a yellow.....anything else which denies an obvious goals coring opportunity including handball, pushing or shirt pulling is still a straight red. Would have to see it again before I could form a judgement on today's red

Tommo_
Ridiculous decision. A penalty all day but a red card was needless collateral damage, he clearly lost his footing and fell. Alas karma was on our side in the 90 seconds after.
