abrodie2002
Fans can't see what happens on the training ground! Fans can't see who is carrying injuries or need a break! Fans only see 90odd mins a week which is a fraction of what the manager and coaches see.... So roger off

If João had picked up an injury after starting against Huddersfield and Blackburn, Carlos would have been slaughtered on here for not using the full squad at his disposal. In fact, wasn't the message from many on here following the Charlton defeat that Carlos should have rotated the squad more, as our players looked tired? thewookieisdown
Joao has scored three times in the past two games. Those goals have led to one win and one decent away point, That woukd seem to suggest rather clearly that he has been handled and deployed well. Counterfactually if he had started the games he and we might have done even better. That's possible. But it's far from certain.
Eightace
CC knows more than us but personally I thought that was a pretty poor team that started. Winning would have been hard even with the best players in there. So maybe he got it right. Its ok for us to say play 3 strikers and do cruyff turns every chance but professionals are probably professionals for a reason. Ian
Joint 6th and knuckle-draggers still having a pop. Go finish your warm bottle of Carlsberg No, we aren't joint 6th at all, we are 8th And the fact is if the manager started realizing how good a team we are with our best players in it and stopped worrying about the opposites we'd have a damn site more points and might be in the 6th position you like to pretend we are. Hooper, Joao, Forestieri and McGugan saved the day for him last week and his decision is to leave 3 of them out again today.....and we didn't get away with it because once Hooper and Joao were on it was very clear that Blackburn were poor and with that side on from the start we'd have won easily Nuhiu is just a joke now, just offers nothing.....and yes Joao or Hooper may have had knocks in the week but if Bus isn't a better option than Nuhiu he may as well pack up and look at a different career
oldishowl
There is adsolutely nothing that says how the game would have gone if we had started with a different team. It certainly helped that the centre half who would have been marking Joao when he scored was laid on his back in our penalty box at the time. Perhaps if he had laid there for all the first half we would have scored another goal then.

For the last 2 games once Nuhiu has been removed we have looked a lot more dangerous and turned round losing positions to get 4 points. You keep your head in the sand but more and more are coming round to seeing the truth
fudge27
So we picked up a win last week and a good point away from home this week and its crap? In pro sports it's about the results; we've gotten 2 good ones on the bounce and have players making an impact from the bench, while rotating our squad. You do realize the seasons runs for another 6 months right?
shandypants
I think that Joao should always start before Nuhiu because he is the better player, however, it is interesting to see that Nuhiu was one of two players that were criticised most today that contributed significantly to both goals - Nuhiu flicked on for Lee for the first and Palmer put the ball into the area for Lee again for the second. So as bad as people believe they've played, both of our goals wouldn't have happened without them. To clarify; I would always pick Joao and Hunt before Nuhiu and Palmer. fudge27
But it's not always as easy as Joao is better so he starts every game. I don't understand how anybody who watches the modern game and what it's become can think that. That's before all the niggles and things that fans have no clue whats happening with

You keep your head in the sand but more and more are coming round to seeing the truth As i have always said Joao is a better player than Nuhiu. I have never seen anybody on this board put anything different.Nobody has got their head in the sand .It just suits you to pretend they have so you spout your tripe. How can you assume that becauae Joao scored when the game opened up in the second half he would have scored if he had started. Nuhiu won the header that made the first goal , how about giving him credit. As the coach says on the OS he didn't start Joao because he hasn't done well starting games in the league and does better coming on when the game opens up second half. He will learn and of course he needs to start games but he is being given the easy ride at the moment coming on second half with players up front to help him
TomtheOwl95
Ah, another one that appears to know better than Carlos. It's funny because it's him that works in football and has done for years and its us that don't so therefore I think his opinion is of more importance. GMOwl72
Whatever the outcome re Joao starting regularly or not one thing that needs addressing is our inability to deal with set pieces and crosses into the box (as per usual he last few years). Joao isn't going to 'rescue' us every game if when he comes on we are always trailing by 1 or 2.
Guest Deleted member
Joao introduced as an impact substitute has won us a game, and a draw in the last two. I'd say Carlos knows what he's doing. Happy to give him benefit of doubt when he's taken a team with so many new additions and has clearly got them to gel so quickly. But you keep bashing single players.. It's a team game, and the manager is utilising the squad to deliver results. One defeat in 15 is I now? ViolaOwls
Rotate the squad when you have played lots of games not 2 weeks after a nice Lay off. As for not picking somebody in case they got injured, grow up
Guest Kameron
If CC continues the policy of starting with a weakened side he will finally run out of luck, some tough games coming up against sides above us. Start the same side against Derby and they'll be out of site by halftime.
