Guest Gazzaowl
This is what the Toronto Blue jays offer for $100,000 which is around £50,000 sort of puts oursin perspective http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/tor/ticketing/luxury_suites.jsp It's around £65000 and it's for 18 people not 10...... Still much better value!
Guest Gazzaowl
"i've never heard anything as daft as the part i've underlined..." is pretty insulting. It's not insular to want to maintain the character of the club. I'm not saying you can't support Wednesday if you don't come from Sheffield. I'm saying I want the club to retain Sheffielders as the core/majority support - that Sheffield Wednesday remains SHEFFIELD Wednesday. Otherwise we're a franchise club. He owns the shares and technically he can do what he wants - move to MIlton Keynes so they can get another leg up perhaps - but that doesn't mean I have to approve just because he happens to have had the bucks to buy Mandaric out. I know prices will going up and probably up and up and up - and that I regard as a bad thing. Am I missing something here.... Hillsborough is at pretty much half capacity most games..... Plenty of room for everyone including (outsiders)
Guest
Still getting mine, its bargain to be honest at that price! If I sell our house I might just be able to afford one after paying off the bank. I will be allowed to stay in it 24/7 though right? Livin in a box.
Guest Grez Bez
Not sure what the price should be as I've never actually paid but given the job market isn't great in Sheffield do we have enough business who will pay for this?

It depends on what you are watching. Top 6 quality football? Potentially. Last years football? Absolutely not. Those first few signings will sway a few people either way. NormOwl
i saw the other day that Stone Roses spike Island tickets were 15 quid. Last time they played a couple of years ago they were about 60 pound. How does this translate in terms of football price increases? And it was worth every penny
kidc77
Not a dig just at our fans but it is aimed at football fans in general. The lack of apathy is letting all clubs get away with murder with price hikes, when and IF the commercial team bother to get in touch with me i will be telling them a straight no. 41k is a joke for a box i was offered a massive sponsorship deal with a championship club including corporate for less than 10 grand more. i just cant believe the prices its almost clown like

Hirstys_12th_Pint
Never really saw the appeal of a box. Yeah you get a bar and a meal, but you could just as easily have a slap up meal and a few pints in the pub beforehand, and for much cheaper. The only other benefit I see is being able to close the door on a frenzy Tuesday night! The only people I can see them being good for is business men who want to use them to entertain business associates Been in a box 3 or 4 times and not a fan. Preferred the hospitality where you get a meal in a suite and then a seat in he stand. You find with boxes people are in and out of them all the time and you do not get the true match atmosphere. owls24
And I know there's a significant number of fans who come from outside Sheffield and that's fine but go to Hillsborough on a Saturday and the overwhelming accent is a Sheffield one. At Watford on the last day of the seaon the overwhelming accent was a Sheffield one. I like that - we're talking about a football club based in a particular community as it has been for almost 150 years. I like that sense of tradition and continuity when it comes to my football club and don't see why it's such a bad thing. I don't hate foreigners, I abhor UKIP but we're talking football which is something completely different. It seems to cool to hate on people for wanting football clubs to retain what's unique and special to them. It seems to go along with the modern hipster view of "it's a free country you know". Yeah, well it might be, but that works both ways and means we're allowed to express our disapproval of the commercialisation of football and what WE what. We're not saying it's going to happen, or even that it should happen, just that's what we'd like to happenIt seems to cool to hate on people for wanting football clubs to retain what's unique and special to them. HirstWhoScoredIt
A colleague has now met with Wednesday's Commercial Manager and two of the Chairman's Thai advisers. The price of the boxes is £35K + VAT for a 3 course meal. £41K + VAT for a 4 course meal. Box holders that do not want to pay that price are putting it into writing for the club in order that it can be presented to Mr Chansiri. Looks likely that the club will reduce prices as they are now realising that the boxes will not be sold at these prices. The new Chairman is clearly very ambitious, is targeting winning the League next season. Number one priority is a striker with a proven track record to demonstrate that he can reasonably be expected to score over 20 goals in The Championship. In general, they were extremely positive about our chances next season.
