Pearson & Roeder

Recommended Posts

It's far too early for comments like "Too Many Cooks" until we know what it is that we're cooking.

If you run a cafe maybe it's fine to have one person cooking and answering to just 1 bloke above him. A fine dining restraunt? You're going to need a few more chefs to properly manage the bigger and better product.

Football has changed. The big clubs don't operate on the basis of Chairman, manager and assistant anymore. Only slightly related, but they were talking about that a little in the Man City game yesterday on Sky. Once upon a time you'd have one physio at the club and maybe a Dr come on when a player went down injured. Silva got stretchered off by a small army, all City's own medical staff. Not that we're Manchester City, but the backroom structure of football has changed immeasurably over the years.

We've spent far, FAR too long in the football wilderness. Building the football club, rebuilding our stature, cementing our future and spending the money involves bringing people in and shaking things up about how we operate. Time might show that this specific system with these specific people doesn't work, but we can only give it a go, and Chansiri has at least projected an image that he knows what he's doing so far. As Yorkshiremen and as Sheffield Wednesday supporters in particular it's almost in our DNA to be suspicious about this sort of change and new found thinking, but if we want to take ourselves and our attempt to get back to the top flight seriously then we need to open up a bit to stuff like this. Mr Chanisiri appears to be taking it very seriously, and in what so far seems like a sensible way. We have to be there with him on that.

GREAT POST.

Im wary about the whole thing, but lets see how it works out. If it is to work then probably someone like Gray is key.

Funny how Glenn Roeder has this negative boring image - as a player he was a classy defender who played with a lot of flair in an age where centre halfs were expected to soften up the forwards and plant the ball in row z.

At the time he was well known for his step overs to go past the forward and bring the ball out of defence.......  Can't remember seeing anyone do that since.

I wish them both luck and stuart gray, its time to just believe in what we are doing. its organized and ambitious.

Another 6 wins on top of what we end up with this year and were playoffs almost deffo.

I really think this is the start of a totally different era for us

MS comments are just nonsense - and he has only provided the facts to back up his own views.

MM and PA ran the club between them - there was no structure.

Pearson and Roeder have only been with the club 5 minutes and both have a wealthe of experience - of success and failure so they know to a large degree what works and what doesn't.

It's impossible to make any judgements at present - this time next year we will know whether Samuel has a point or not but to dismiss it before this new regime has even started is a ridiculous assertion.

Guest conisbrough

Peter is the agent based in Dubai who introduced Chansiri to Mandaric. He is the youngish guy sat in press conference and one who was behind Mandaric and Chansiri at games.

Pearson says in the star regarding SG....

“He plays a good brand of football.â€

highly debatable if you ask me lol

In fairness we do pass it about a bit and the goal we scored against Charlton via Buxton and Lavery was excellent.

But that being said, we play a bit like the old England. Pass it around midfield a bit, back to your centre back and then hoof it to the big lad.

Doesn't result in much goalmouth action.

Rejoice. This is us sorting our off field sh!t in April. Never been known before. Probably looking at players to bring in already. Experienced people talking about our future. Signing players before summer maybe. Taking the new squad on pre season tour. Not fecking about at the start of August with 3 loans & a pointy stick. DC means business. Now get Leeds beaten & get that fecking 'pitch' up, asap. UTO!

Does anyone agree Chris Turner could have done the Roeder role?

He spotted talent such as Brunt and Whelan and is Wednesday through and through.

Probably could but maybe he doesn't want to?

Thought it was Peter Eustace who spotted these two and informed Turner.

Just a bloke, who used up all his luck in one go when he met his wife.

No thanks. Just comparing their CVs indicates quite a gulf in experience. Suspect Roeder brings a lot more benefits, including availability.
