BFR
Not sure about hated, isn't booing a sign of appreciation here? As the only criteria to be linked to the club on OT is to have already been here, or have family members here, if you discount players that our fans have booed we won't ever sign anyone. @owlstalk
Agree with Neil, he didn't get as much abuse as Brunt though....or Lewis Buxton come to think of it. Funny breed are Owls fans......considering the crazy over the top standing ovation that Tony McMahon got Owlstalk Shop

Guest
He's not wrong Whelan got dogs abuse for a while For what it's worth I think he's a quality player , not sure we need a player like him though and not sure he would want to come back here And he's staying at Stoke anyway
SHUowl
Be a good signing regardless of being an ex player.
Stoop
Whelan would walk into 75% of the teams in the Premiership, and I couldn't see him dropping down a division, just because he played here ten years ago.I'd say 75% is a slight exaggeration

SiJ
West brom boundWould make sense. Perfect club for him and a manager who massively rates him.
Davidioso
Seen him a few times in the premier league and he lacks any pace enough for the premierleague But he could do a job for a high end championship club I've been hearing that for 10 years. "Not enough pace" And yet he has played over 200 times in the Prem League. Pulis and Hughes thinks he has enough pace. People said he lacked pace when he played for us. Whelan and Brunt had a torrid time on here.
Guest ka58
Whelan was and is an excellent footballer. In typical wednesday fashion we got mugged money wise when he left. Him and brunt were the best two players we've had since relegation from the premier league.
