Kirkland has done well, but has had a history of injury problems, and obviously won't have a resale value. Martinez is young, technically sound, and could well make us a few quid in the future. We don't have a say in wether Kirkland goes or stays, we can't "let him go" on a free cos he's already there FFS, he's out of contract so it's up to him and his agent where he chooses to play next season, yep we could put in a "bid" for him but ultimately it's not our say, not sure I'd want us to pay an awful lot more wages to him than we already do but some clubs might, he's good but at what cost ?
