The Jj Appreciation Thread

Why can't people accept he won't play great every game and that lower league clubs are allowed to have servants of the game who donate large amounts of their careers to one club?

Longest serving player, entertainer and always to be relied on.

Never doubted him and never persecuted him just because he can't dribble round six players every game.

Just enjoy him and be grateful that in this day and age of silly money and lack of loyalty JJ has played with a smile on his face for years in a Wednesday shirt and will be remembered for years to come.

Cult hero, icon and a nice fella to boot.

BOOM. I believe this post as nailed it.

Spot on Mr. Bach, spot on!

Superb again today. JJ has had a good season and should have figured much more.

He was playing well at the start of the season until dropped to right back. Came in against Hull and was superb then he was the one who made way for Lita. Should have had more faith in him.

To be fair to him, he's been unlucky to be dropped a couple of times this season, after decent displays...he was untouchable today from the off.

Marking him must be a nightmare....once today he went past 3 and only touched the ball once, the rest was dummies , stepovers and smoke and mirrors...you stand up everytime he gets it....you know it might not come off...but when it does....

He should stay longer because he's part of the club's identity, and if DJ wants to develop new / young players, you need some senior players connected to the club around the place to help provide the right environment.

That and he's class, obviously.

He has a very under-stated theological side to him, always tweeting inspirational phrases and mantras.

Apparantly when he finishes his playing career he wants to return to Jamaica and coach football - he is very much associated with his roots rather than a plastic-Reggae Boy such as Robbie Earle.

Whether he decides to stay or not, who knows?

But it's a nice thought that he will take a piece of Sheffield Wednesday home to Jamaica with him.

I was going to say all of this.

I've always defended him on here after the boo boys have had a go at him.

Great player who can win a game single handedly.

JJ was great today.  I also feel he has been harshly treated this season as he was sacrificed for the likes of Bothroyd and Barkley early on in the season after the team had started well.  I remember his tweet after the Middlesbrough away game saying how fed up he was.  Well JJ you showed em today enjoy your weekend and well done son.
