Bernard's Protest - Photo

Recommended Posts

I walked down to the corner where he was standing...saw the balloons first...I was chatting to my mate Al and as we walked past he shouted ''Who????....Me? then mumbled 'sorry''!! '' I saw the 'chair' and his sign and twigged who it was and had a chat for a minute with him...well sort of as loads more people stood around and a camera crew were across the road filming the memorial and it looked like they were coming over so I carried on my way....do remember him from bloody years back on the South if its him that has quite a shrill high voice when he really gets going...everyone used to cheer whenever he piped up...

I`ve known Bernard well for 40 years. He`s virtually an uncle to my kids ,[both now in their 20s], They both love hlm to bits, but find his ways very strange. He has a heart of gold, but cannot stop himself getting involved in matters that have nothing to do with him. He resents any authority or officialdom, and will fight tooth and nail with them, even when he knows he is 100% in the wrong. He rung me on Thursday and we spoke for over an hour. He doesn`t believe he has done anything wrong, but he wouldn`t even if he was totally out of order.

Even though we are very close friends, I haven`t sat with him at a match in 20 years, because he is an absolute pain in the arse at a game.

The club has a big problem here because he will never change, and he will escalate his protests until he gets hjs own way; It`s going to be painful to watch until they let him back in..

Problem is - when he's let back in - he's surely gonna get people complaining about him again so it's a really tricky situation for all concerned

Can't believe people are actually defending this bloke.

He's got rightfully banned for persistently shouting abuse and just downright behaving anti-socially.

Knock 40 years off this bloke, and no one would give a ****.

Just because he's been loyal and is an old bloke doesn't mean he's exempt from being dealt with by the club.

This..

If he agrees to shut up and not constantly spout poo then let him in but if he isn't willing to do so, don't let him in
