I emailed the club Thursday 9th August, no reply, not even an acknowledgement that the email has been received :(

Was thinking a thread like this would be a good idea so we can keep track on when they're being sent out and thus know when to chase up when nothing's happening.

I gave Livingsocial a thumbsdown on their feedback with the comment of "how exactly can we give feedback when the voucher has not been received yet?" No wonder they then apologised to everyone and told them to ignore the previous email, way too early for feedback!

Nothing here either. Not worried yet, I imagine they'll do a load in a batch process. I'm expecting something through post this week I reckon.

Hi all,

There was a technical issue on Friday where the vouchers were redeemed by the system and therefore the feedback email was sent automatically. LivingSocial quickly fixed that (within about half an hour) and therefore the follow-up email was sent advising you not to worry and how to claim your gift card.

As advised on the voucher, to claim your gift card:

Voucher print instructions:

1) To redeem, email the megastore email address quoted in your voucher to order you subscription card

2) Be sure to mention your full name, postal address and LivingSocial voucher number

3) Allow 7-10 days for delivery of the card

4) Await delivery

5) Enjoy!

To activate your card once delivered

1) Visit: www.player.swfc.co.uk/buy

2) Select ‘Voucher : Redeem Subscription Code’ as your payment method and complete your details

3) Scratch off the silver strip on the back of the card to reveal your unique code and enter this in the space provided

4) Start enjoying access to exclusive Wednesday Player content!

Emails into Megastore are not individually acknowledged due to sheer volume, however rest assured that all emails received by that email address thus far have been processed and the gift cards sent out today at the latest. You should receive them within the next few days (in time for the start of the league campaign, hopefully but do allow 7-10 days to allow for Royal Mail) and will receive a further feedback email thereafter.

Any emails received beyond this morning will be processed as received and the gift card sent out in the next post after being processed.

Seeing as you lot clearly are wanting spoonfeeding answers (so that you can then rant/complain/whinge some more despite these being fact) here you go...

- The Wednesday Player platform is provided by a third party (Perform Group via FLi) and the club provide the content (to the platform specifications).

- The club have no say on the pricing directly – however were able to offer this as we bulk-bought gift cards from FLi to sell on a retail basis. We bought the maximum we were allowed to (and cannot get more) – hence why it was limited to the 400.

- The offer will not be run again, but we
may
do another ticketing offer (just the one!) for a specific game via LivingSocial at some point this season, there
may
be other retail offers perhaps and the community programme
may
run offers for things like soccer camps from time to time – so it’s worth keeping an eye on LivingSocial emails.

- The deal was to buy a physical ‘gift card’, not a code or similar – hence why we cannot email the codes (the code system is run by the platform, not the club, so we can’t access the codes to email) – it was clearly stated that people were buying a gift card, several times, and clearly stated in the terms it would be posted to them. Everyone should read such terms before they buy, of course.

- The service is only ever advertised for PC and Mac (this, again, is clearly stated), not for mobiles at all – hence why mobiles are not supported directly for Wednesday Player. There is a separate App (the Football League Official Clubs’ App) for Android/iOS, but that is a different product and has a different subscription, plus only has video, not commentary (imagine the data charges for streaming commentary over a phone network for over 2 hours!?).

- Mobiles will not be directly supported this coming season, either – however, unofficially, Andoid users tend to be able to use it with no problems whatsoever using the normal web browser interface and iPhone/iPad users have encountered success using an alternative browser from the App Store that stream Flash content by proxy (I think ‘Photon’ is one such app), so – if people want – they can use the service on their devices with a workaround like this.

- Limited number/Limited time deals like this is how companies like LivingSocial work. You’re always in with a better chance of finding out about such deals if you check their website in a morning and/or subscribe to their emails. Miss it, miss out – it’s tough. 400 was still a significant amount offered, more than most local deals run.

- Where people are saying ‘what other companies publicly offer discounts like this’... err.. LOADS. Just browse through LivingSocial/GroupOn/KGB, etc and see. Recent examples of public offers via LivingSocial include Marks and Spencer (£7 for a £15 giftcard), HMV (£10 for a £20 voucher), Boots (£15 for a £30 giftcard). Sky, BT and Virgin regularly do ‘3 months free’ offers for new customers, etc... It’s common marketing practice.

App to be developed, possibly the end of this year and they are looking into putting commentary on it.

yea good news thanks , maybe worth setting up a auto reply next time :rolleyes:

It was the general megastore email address though - would be no good auto-responding about the voucher for all enquiries. Perhaps a temp email address with an autoresponder? Live and learn eh.
