Simmo200
My god, so he has, I think the comment of being fully fit for 2 seasons is a Joke, got injured at Doncaster in his first game. Had some bad reviews in the reserves. 2nd choice for 2 seasons. Bad Move
theowlsman
Can we merge the Kirkland threads? Seems some were wrong with claims he is a crock. Official site says he has been fully fit for 2 seasons and is just frustrated at remaining a number 2 for that long. On the face of it, it's a good signing, but who will be leaving? Surely we don't need 4 keepers?

Guest Sheff Owl
People think Bywater might not sign but we could have told Weaver he is allowed to move on, could be nothing to do with Bywater.

Guest utOwlz
Wow, every now and then we sign someone who nobody expected, and this is one of those times, totally out of the blue. Good keeper, time will tell if he stays fit, i hope he does because i think thats a really good signing. Im sure our medical team and also Terry burton and Dave Jones have done some checks on his fitness. He passed the medical so thats a good start Welcome to Hillsborough Chris! LaminyPie
If it weren't for his horrendous injury record we would be delighted Jury is out
Mountain Owl
This is very high risk. He is so injury prone its beyond belief for a goalkeeper. No doubting his ability but how many games is he going to be free from injury? Another Jeffers by the sound of it and money down the drain. J053PH
Pretty much stating the obvious but yeah, i think it'll be Weaver to go. Dale Johnson â€@dalejohnsonESPN With Sheffield Wednesday signing Chris Kirkland, either Stephen Bywater has turned down a new deal or Nicky Weaver is to leave.#swfc Edited May 23, 2012 by J053PH
Guest fieldzyowl
Bloody hell Wikipedia are quick off the mark http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Kirkland You want to see how quick they are when someone croaks it! fifaowl
Very strange. Excellent keeper - probably our best technically since Scott Carson, but his injury record is depressing reading. Tom Heaton won't be signing now i'd imagine - and Bywater probably won't be here next season. Not too thrilling tbh, has a feeling of Jeffers about it. WTF? WalthamOwl
Like others have said good signing if he stays fit but let's be honest the chances of that are very slim

NormOwl
As per most, if he stays fit he's the best goalie we've had since Carson on loan and pressman full time
TrickyTrev
Terrible signing, might have been ok on a pay as you play deal but to give him a two year contract is ridiculous. Still, it should give our medical department something to keep them busy!!
Bluesteel
Seems to suffer from back spasms? I think the quote at the end is telling, players want in after seeing the scenes at Hillsborough on the last day. Great stuff.
lowershiregreenowl
Good keeper on his day time will tell about his injury record, says he's been injury free for the last two seasons.
