JON™
Now I'm not saying we will sign one of them this is just a story where they quote the Pompy chef ex as saying : "There has been interest from the Premier League and Championship clubs and one League One club." One of these 2 would certainly improve our midfield and could this be the Hughes that irvine mentioned ? http://bit.ly/hesYQx
enigmamedusa
Don't like Brown, nothing to do with him playing for United, just think he's a bit of a cod canyon Edited January 22, 2011 by enigmamedusa

Matt_1
Brown would own League 1, ex-pig or not.
nile
brown is the type of player we are in desperate need for, he'd be a cracking signing for us in this league, not much chance of this coming off though.
jp1981
Id take both of them. Both would boss the midfield in this league. And due to the Milan connection, and the no footy for them at pompey they might be interested.
benitocarbonara
brown please ball player and can put his foot in if needed would boss league one. BRUCE LEE
Rather have Keith Andrews than Brown.... he's lost his legs, just runs around volleying people, too far off the pace. Hughes would be perfect for us.
TheEnchanter
Ex-pig or not I couldnt give a t0ss. Remember when they had Bromby, Geary and Quinny from us? We need a bit of payback for that so I would very much welcome Michael Brown, strong, nasty ballwinning midfielder in the Shaun Derry mould that we NEED. He would be cheap but not sure he'd drop down to league one. Maybe if the likes of Michael Morrison have made the drop maybe Milan could wave his metaphorical wand and get him in. TheEnchanter
I'd also take Hughes,Andrews etc etc. They seem like the sort we need.

The Batman
both past thier sell by date, could do with a younger type of player like pilkinton or that kid from Exeter Hughes is 31, hardly past it. Might play for another 2 or 3 seasons before he feels his age. Some play on longer these days. I would also prefer players of the same quality but younger but we can't rebuild the squad for the long term in one January transfer window. A good defensive CM at 31 would be perfect for now. We've done well to get the defenders we have, but that was due to their contract situations. We'd be very lucky if all the right players we want/need were all available right now and for the right price and at the right age Leave the more expensive long term signings til the summer. Thats not the point im making the point is how many ex pigs get mentioned on here would people be mentioning the likes of Brown,Tongue,Hendrie etc if they had not played for utd, do people watch players or just listen to others its a good job were not surrounded by villa fans or we would be wanting Heskey. And before the replies come thats tongue in cheek but do you get were im coming from.
