We haven't got anyone else at the club that would have scored his first....the other goals have in many ways over shadowed how good a finish that was

Agreed.

To generate the power on that from the position he was.

Great goal.

Fantastic header moving away from goal and placed it within an inch of the post. Second one he was never gonna miss - get service like that to him and he'll score every game.

Made a good block on the edge of our box just before ht as well.

3 goals in 6 games - that 1 in 2 record continues....

Very impressed with that, not normally something you associate with him.

I like the pairing of JR & SW, not saying its "the one" cos JR hasn't featured enough with other strikers

They don't play the same but ethics remind me of Hirsty & Willow, a scorer and a grafter, ideal partnership

The advantage of Rhodes and Winnall over FF and someone else up front (And I'm including certain strikers we still have at the club with this) is that you can whip a ball into the box and their movement and agility allows them to find space between defenders to get the ball. FF may have a great leap and good movement, but it's difficult to ping a ball into the box and hope he gets a clean header on it. Equally, other, taller strikers who can dominate in the air lack a lot of the mobility required to find gaps... so if the ball isn't planted straight on their head or within half a yard of them, they're never going to get to the ball. With Rhodes and Winnall, we get a bit of both, and our players can be less accurate and just worry about sticking the ball "in the danger area" and there's still a reasonable chance a striker will make contact with the ball. Their movement compliments each other really well, it's making it difficult for them to be marked out... reckon this is why we're scoring more crosses... players are more comfortable swinging it in knowing we've got both ability and movement in the air in the box now.

Keep playing like that, we'll score a lot more goals

He did indeed. Which sort of dismisses the oft-spouted theory from his detractors that he's just a goalscorer. I've genuinely been massively impressed with his work rate, A proper team player as well as a brilliant finisher. We are very lucky to have a chairman who has once again dug deep into his pockets to land such a talisman. Fantastic signing.
