Halifax with far greater need of victory tonight. The same as when Chesterfield went down to Dorking and lost 3-1.

They actually lost 4-1 at Dorking and that’s the score again already tonight.

Maybe they want to win promotion in front of their own fans.

Was Non League Day Saturday so had a drive to North Yorkshire for Pickering Town 0 Hallam FC 1 in front of 113 spectators (£8 admission 0 a bit steep at that level and £2 programme).
Was a scrappy game in windy conditions that I thought Hallam edged.

Was 3 sided grounds with 2 small stands for seating.
Like a lot of clubs down the pyramid shares its facilities with the local Cricket club,
Pickering was also a nice small English town in he country. Made me think of Darrowby, the fictional setting for All Creatures Great and Small.
Fish and Chips before were also excellent.

if prices go up too much for season tickets in the future,   I be getting a Hallam FC season ticket.

Good idea. Football played when it should be on Saturday afternoons

no outside interference by VAR to skew the result

Decisions left to the ref and linesmen. Hey this could catch on

local derbies or at least games within travelling distance that won’t be re arranged to please the money men and a pie and pint at half time

it sounds good to me from a long way away

Was living the dream yesterday with 2 Non league Games!

First was an 11am Kick Off at Mexborough Athletic Ground for the Montagu Cup Final of Brinsworth DS 1 v Park View (Swinton) 1 (Park View won on Pens after ET) in front of 1,660 spectators (£3 admission with free programme)
Montagu Cup Final is a cup completion for Amateur sides in South Yorkshire and began in 1897, final is always played on Easter Monday at the same ground.

Then have a drive to Stocksbridge PS 1 Pontefract Collieries 0 (£9 admission - £2 programme) in NPL East Division in front of 251.
Good competitive game with a last minute goal deciding it.

Went down to Wythenshawe FC (my son plays u18 at the club) on Saturday, routine 2-0 against win against Colne, in front of just over 400.

They beat Kendal 4-0 last night, and moved top of the Northwest Counties Premier division. Easter weekend is shaping up to be huge with away games at Bury, who are currently 3rd, and the El Civico derby against Wythenshawe Town, who are 2nd in the league and boast modern day Wednesday legend George Boyd amongst their ranks.

Exciting times.

The Ammies managed a point with a stoppage time penalty at Bury on Easter Saturday, in front of 4,000+. Followed by a late 2-1 defeat away at Wythy Town on Easter Monday.

A couple of twists and turns since Easter weekend, including defeat for Wythy Town at Chadderton last weekend and a loss at 'home*' against Padiham for Bury on Tuesday night sees the Ammies top of the table, separated only by goal difference from Wythy Town and 1 point ahead of Bury going into tomorrows final fixtures.

I'm heading up to Squires Gate FC in the hope that the Ammies can clinch the win that should seal the title and back to back promotions, unless Town can overturn the 15 goal GD deficit at home against Skelmersdale United. Bury will be looking to capitalise on a slip up by both sides from Wythenshawe in their derby fixture, away at neighbouring Ramsbottom United.

Times are still exciting.

*Played at FCUM after the original fixture was postponed on Saturday due to the pitch at Gigg Lane being unplayable.

So Chelmsford City finished second in the Vanarama South to set up their almost annual go at the play offs. Unfortunately they must be the worst team in history in them; in eight play off campaigns in the South they've only got to the final once and then they screwed it up by managing to lose against ten men.

This one is different, however. As six teams go into the play offs they don't play in the first game and will play either Bath City or Braintree Town at home in the second. If they win that they get a home final.

Never have a better chance than this!

Parkgate won NCEL Division One last night, got 104 points with a game still to play.

Won 2-0 away at Wombwell & played excellently on the night.

Great achievement as their schedule has been insane recently due to rearranged games having to be squeezed in.
