Josh Onomah

What a game he had tonight, what a game he had in the semi final legs as well.

Not good enough for the Hillsborough faithful though! The stand out moment being the individual booing / hounding out of him during the 4-0 home loss to Norwich despite the whole team playing shocking.

Hopefully this is a lesson, it's no wonder we struggle to get young talent from premier league clubs in.

We as a club and set of fans need to be so much more supportive of young talent we get in, starting with the likes of Penney, Dawson, Wildsmith, Hunt, Shaw and Dele-Bashiru.

They'll make mistakes but can come good and make this club some much needed money with the right support.

Up the owls!

Dont hold your breath.

Onomah wasn't very good for us though. The fans didn't make him playing so averagely. It's not our fault he didn't impose himself on a game. Frankly after what I saw of him at Villa and Wednesday I am surprised that Fulham got a tune out of him. It's not always our fault you know.

What...  booing your own players?

You seem to think it has no effect on the players at all. I'm not getting into the whole argument that it's the fans fault, but I think fans just need to pause and consider the implications of their actions, as do players, managers, coaches and chairmen.

the expectation at hillsborough has been heavy for decades that wednesday should be doing better.

each seasons continued failure only further fuels that expectation.

we have a crowd quick to turn bitter, heavy on criticism of both the individual and team.

it doesn't help that our fan base is quite elderly, (and at present potg prices and the pigs in the premier isn't going to attract younger fans anytime soon) and can remember better sides in the early sixties and more recent under charlton, wilkinson, and bfr, with the two former being totally different from ron's onfield set up, the latter of which still stalks the hillsborough stands with the idea that promotion must be won in a certain fashion, or is otherwise not done in 'the correct way'

Its the elderly fan base's fault

I've read it all now !

What we need is young "hungry" fans 😆

So, he was a good coach when they went up and a bad coach when they went down?

No, he’s an excellent coach full stop.
You don’t survive as a coach in and around the top flight for 25 years unless you are.

If you elevate him as a good coach when they get promoted then its only logical to say he's a bad coach when they get relegated.

But I know what you mean.

He is young and it is clear he has great strength and touch. If we are going to get the young talent in that potential needs channeling and nurturing in the right way by good coaches. They are not going to be the finished article when they arrive with us and they don't just develop naturally. He is probably flourishing because he's got a good coach in Stuart Gray playing to his strengths and developing him. Not much to do with fans patience. When Premier League clubs look at where to send their young players they are looking at the coaching staff at the club they are going to. Do they trust them to bring the players on etc?

Arguably, the best two players in the Fulham side last night were our ex players Onomah and Hector, the basis of a very strong spine of that team. No surprise that the former looked good briefly under a good coach/manager in Bruce.

Looks like he was re appointed 2nd March 2019.
So yes he was there but only for 9 weeks at the end of 2018/19 season.

I wanted to play for the club but wasnt good enough so support them instead ....you  should try it .

So I don’t support them because I know we are going down? I will still wake up at 3:30 am on weekends and stay up till midnight watching and cheering them on regardless of the inevitable. Would you do that Mr Number 1 Happy Clapper Head in the Clouds Supporter? I sincerely doubt it!

Dawson got sagged off mainly because Westwood was still here and people wanted him back in the net despite him being absolutely useless at the beginning of the season, then Dawson's confidence was sucked out of him by a w@nk back 4 and certain elements of the crowd.

Dawson and Wildsmith were much more ‘useless’ during the season than Westwood was.

Not sure Onomah was as good as the sky sports commentators were making him out to be.  He scored a decent goal in the semi, they stuck it in their notes for the final and every time he did something positive they referred back to it.

"fans have been calling him Josh OnoMAHRADONA" etc.  In fact in the semis, post match interview, Parker said he was happy for Josh because fans had been getting on his back because he hasn't been performing at the level he should.  He had a good performance for us against Bristol and hes had a decent couple of games for Fulham in the play offs this season.  Don't miss him, do miss Hector though, aka Virgil Van Mike.  Fulham were floundering until he was allowed to play in Jan and I'm glad he gets the chance to play in the Prem.

We are no worse than any other fan base in that respect, players that consistently under perform get stick everywhere. A team that go from 3rd in the division to end up being the lowest scorers at home can't expect too many platitudes. I have never booed a player, don't see that it is of any benefit, but there hasn't been much to get excited about at Hillsborough in the last 12 months.

At least the players performed much better in the 5 home games they had with no pressure from the fans in the stands though eh!

Fulham fans were giving him stick? Surely not, it's only the nasty supporters at Hillsborough that do that to players isn't it?

If the mild mannered bunch at Craven Cottage were getting on a players back it just goes to show that fans up and down the country are not too much different in that respect.
