Recommended Posts

The Football Association have issued the following statement in relation to the Stags' pre-season friendly match at home to Sheffield Wednesday on July 24.

'Mansfield Town and Sheffield Wednesday have been fined £3,000 and £20,000 respectively after both clubs admitted an FA misconduct charge of failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative and/or violent behaviour.

'It follows an incident in the 88th minute of their game on 24 July 2018.

'Furthermore, Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri and Mansfield’s Jacob Mellis have each been suspended for three matches with immediate effect and fined £25,000 and £1,500 respectively after admitting an FA misconduct charge in relation to the same incident at the end of this game.'

So Forestieri gets a £25k fine and Mellis who flying kicked Tom Lees in the stomach gets a £1.5k fine?

F**k me, was Fessi stamping on players and using a cricket bat!?!?!?!

Absolute joke!!!!!

Weeks wages fine seems to be the logical reason for there figures.

Be means tested won't it.

We earn 7 times as much as them, plus we are 7 times as big as them.

Bans will be proportionate to weekly salary for the players and income for the clubs.

Yeah, the players get fined in terms of wages.

What metric are we getting fined by?

Man City were fined £50k for failing to control their players at Wigan in March. I don't believe their income is only 2.5 times ours.
