Joey D How did he play?

Recommended Posts

Can’t believe what I read from some. Jeez.

Joey as some have said was playing with a yellow due to Loovens hesitation. So had to be slightly cautious all game.

Yes he did make couple of mistakes with trying pass back instead of forward but come on it’s his first game with his new team mates. Despite being on a yellow early doors he not afraid to slide in with a tackle and got good foot to quite a few.

Reckon will be a good addition once settles in.

Oh give over...not slating him..but he was poor..it will take some getting used too tho,,he should be ok in a few games,,but let's not say he had a good game because he didnt

But to say he was crap was maybe taking it to the other extreme?!

He played just as you would expect someone who is not used to the english game to play.

As other have said, early yellow card probably killed his style of play and forced him to watch his step. Game seemed a bit quick for him but he never hid. Showed for a lot of passes all night, and seemed to be always keeping an eye on his defensive position. Got his foot in a few times but a bit sloppy with a few passes. All in all it wasnt great and wasnt bad.

Few games to get up to speed needed. Also needs to learn that he cant pass the man on to someone else with the way we are currently set up and defending. Tried this a few times last night. He needs time and we may have to wait till next season to see best of him, when hes in a role and team hes settled into.

After last night I hope he will become someone who looks to dictate the play.   He probably doesn't have to adapt as much as players in other positions would - hopefully.

A triangle with two central defenders sat behind him who can play the ball and him could be quite a game changing trio, and that would be exciting to watch ultimately.    I believe he's been signed so we don't need to have three in the heart of defence.

But he wasn't crap. Choice of words obviously not your strong point. So you put him down before he evens starts. Brilliant.

Oh sop being a big snowflake..he wasn't crap then..just poor

Why would you make a statement like he was crap on his first game. Most fans would say nothing special but was his debut and settled in to the game and will judge him over the rest of the season. Unless you are just trying fish for bites.
