Portuguese players doing better without Carlos

Arguably the worst man-manager we've ever had in the hot seat.

Disagree. In the first 2 years, he was one of the best. The players have let him, and the club down, when the right thing to do was freshen the squad up. We rewarded a number of senior players with new fat contracts, and they’ve taken the foot off the peddle. Everyone in the club got far too comfortable.

The last eighteen months Carlos was the Jay Bothroyd of Wednesday managers

Ridiculous.  Our most successful manager in at least 18 years.

Without injuries, we would have been a top 6 team again.

Anyway, can we forget Carlos and move on?   He's now history.

Couldn’t be any more wrong . The players are accountable yes, but we picked up points in spite of Carlos not because of him .

fred for example, not a sniff under Carlos, despite van aken struggling and loovens needing to retire . Low and behold he’s actuslly quite good and what we have been missing .

Matias one start , hooked at half time then nothing . Against , comes in in his more natural position and looks a threat.

Hopefully jos can help sort this shambles out . The signs are promising so far

I stand corrected this is the most wrong anybody could be. We were crap before the injures that Carlos part created happened

Matias was taken off at half time against Hull because he was out of his depth.  Yes, he played well last night but Carlisle were easily the worst team to play at Hillsborough this season.  So don't get too carried away.

New manager, new start.  But lose 2 games on the trot and the knives will be out for Jos.

Nuhiu was brilliant but if he starts against Cardiff, he'll find it tougher.

OK.  That's your opinion.  This seasons a write off, but I'd be more than happy if Jos stays another 2 seasons and emulates Carlos by taking us into the playoffs twice.

How did Carlos part create injuries, incidentally?  That's a new one.

No we wouldn't

He alienated pretty much the entire squad

As for the 'injury situation' we all pretty much know now that Carlos was responsible for that too

Rubbish. ‘We picked up point in spite of Carlos...’ Was qualifying for the playoffs in consecutive seasons in spite of Carlos as well?

His first 2 seasons coincided with our highest points totals for the thick end of 20 years.

Fans have such very short memories. Jos appears to have made a good start, but let’s not try and rewrite history to suit an agenda on Carlos.

My view on it is things just went stale for Carlos this season and after two very good seasons which ultimately ended in disappointment he should have gone after the Huddersfield game and Chansiri will probably look at that now and feel the same. Think that was probably when the players stopped believing he is the one to get us promoted aswell.

As for him not playing players who are now performing. Every manager in every job will have his favourites and Carlos was very rigid in his style of play so some players were never going to get a look in.

Would we be top 6 now without the injuries. Maybe. last two seasons would say so. Carlos has a set of say 12-15 players he really relyed upon after that he was on his own. Problem is those 12-15 players this season decided he wasn't the man for them anymore.

And as much as I can see all of Carlos's failures this season the players are as much to blame as him for this shocking season we have had so far. Don't believe me then watch the Burton match, Carlos had nothing to do with that.

Strongly disagree with that mate

Carlos had many failings and players just refused to play for him because of them.

He took us all for a right ride

joao after an decent  start didn't impress enough to warrant a regular place and that he couldn't get a regular spot in the loan at Blackburn backs up why carlos preferred others.....as for matias he's spent more time with the physio's than the coaches and on the few occasions he did get on the pitch he didn't show anything to warrant a regular spot so again I can see why carlos lost some faith in him .....new blokes come in and with everyone starting from scratch maybe they'll get another chance to prove themselves and take it this time .
