FAN’S FIGHTING AMONST THEMSELVES PART 35564

The bloke getting thrown off the Kop was about ten rows in front of me. Didn’t see what started it but certainly saw him being asked to calm down and refusing, then being told to leave and refusing, then the stewards trying to escort him out and him fighting them. What do they do at that point?

If they give in, they prove themselves to be utterly powerless, which most (I think) of us don’t want. If they carry on and attempt to force him out, which they did, they get dogs abuse and people (two) throwing plastic bottles from fifty rows back screaming LEAVE ‘IM ALOOOONE, BOOOO despite having no clue whatsoever about what’s going on.

The bloke was swinging for anyone who tried to stop him doing whatever he wanted, and he looked off his nut. I certainly wouldn’t have wanted him sat next to me.

Get lost if you literally can’t control you behaviour among others. Stewards had to try to manhandle him ‘cos he was point-blank refusing to stop chucking himself about.

That isn't what I said did I.

I saw several supposed 'stewards' who were considerably larger that the fan being very physical. Looked like a few jabs were thrown in and other unnecessary force, from my perspective.

The 'stewards' managed to escort the fan away so they were not stopped.

Fans on both the kop and south stand aired frustration at the way they handled it. I wasn't the only one that questioned their methods.

As i said, it needs some scruitiny. Where did you get the shame part from?

The fans were attempting to get the guy who was being kicked out for a good reason, from not being kicked out.

Lack of respect for authority is the main reason. Shameful really.

I couldn't see what was going on from where I was sat, but I was reassured by the presence of the bloke a bit behind who shouted 'Siiit Daaaaarn'. I'm sure it's the same bloke who shouts it every single time something like this happens, anywhere. Same accent, voice, intonation, same forlorn hope that people will listen and see the error of their ways.

what a surprise, all the angels on here coming up with solutions when they don't know the problem

I don’t care what the problem is when it’s a 40+ year-old man throwing punches and screaming his head off at a football match surrounded by kids. Unless it’s a genuine mental health issue there is NO excuse that justifies it.

You've watched us over 30 years and it's as bad as its got?

Were you asleep during the reigns of Eustace, Yorath, Jewell, Turner and Irvine?

.

I don't know about that but I was fast asleep today until that kerfuffle woke me up, very inconsiderate given that everyone on the pitch had done all they could to ensure I had a peaceful kip for the best part of 90 minutes.

Aye fair enough - not griping at you. What should the stewards have done differently then, y'think? (I'm not being rhetorical/smartarse...genuine question!)

Like someone had already said, marching this guy the full length of the pitch, past loads of kids, 2 technical areas. Is there anything at S6 they can get right. Its a sodding fiasco.

I didn't see the start but assume that was the case.

My issue is with how the 'stewards' handled it. Worries me if that is the expected behaviour.

Unfortunately the fan was detained with relatively little force ,he clearly was out of control and was lucky not to be arrested by the Police or maybe he will be,there was no excuse for his behaviour

People rightly complaining are the innocent party then?  I don’t think so. There’s a guy that sits a couple of rows behind me that moans constantly and constantly berates our players to the extent that it distracts me from the game. The problem with him is that he lets everyone around him know his opinion. Not only me but others have asked him to cool it a little but he then gets aggressive. He’s almost had fisticuffs with several people wrong him.

North stand Row 20 or 21? Bout 185 or so?

Ekk,hope he`s ok.

It was right next to us; happened about 5 minutes before full-time. Bloke collapsed and stewards and medical staff were there very quickly. He was still receiving medical attention when the game finished but he looked OK. Hopefully he's made a full recovery.
