£100 k more than Derby paid for Curtis Davies who is 50 x better.

He may have had a release amount on relegation or a contract clause reducing his wages if they went down (ala Davies).

Or, we may want a rejected bid to lower market's expectations.

Either way, looks like we are much more cute this year in markey. If we get Hanley for £3 million.

My thoughts, exactly.

It's all smoke and mirrors so no need for us to panic.

Last month Derby were about to pip us to Hanley at £4 mill.

A day later they played a blinder and signed Davies for no dosh.

Haha. Nicely done as well

All players have agents, could I be so bold to say that we would have known about this situation and that Derby have offered wages that we deemed too much or didn't want him in the first place.

Losing to 'Udders was a bad 'un. In anybody's book. If you sack someone there has to be a viable replacement, and maybe there wasn't at the time. Offering £200 000 for Mulgrew is derisory. It's a gee-up bid, it's got to be.

Huddersfield were better than us over the course of the season (would have finished above us had they not rotated the squad once they had a play-off place confirmed) and better than us over a two legged semi-final. I don't call that a bad 'un to be honest - losing to a better team. What is bad is that Huddersfield were better than us when we have much greater resources and experience!

If Mr Chansiri was so unhappy with Carlos then finding viable replacement would have been pretty straight forward, surely?

£200k for a 31 year old, Division 3 defender who is current club can't really afford to keep is a sensible opener IMO.

Dale, you could but it was widely reported we tried to hijack deal at very last minute but were too late.

Let's hope Hanley is this Summer's Harry Mc.

If Billy's a Ram, wouldn't gloat too much cos you won't replace Ince, his goals ,assists nor nous and experience.

Unless you see contracts, virtually everything in footy's hearsay.

But was in Star so less sensational paper,

But if we didn't try to get in on Davies deal, we really are crap.

As long as it was in The Star.

Is he any good??

Considering a team looking for promotion to prem 100k-200k is a little bit strange. I'm now thinking have we actually got much money left over to fill the CB we so desperately need?

Is he Ginger?

So its a fact that we have offered 200k, certainly not stated by the club. One thing we know for certain is DC  does not reveal transfer fees, he is a shrewd business man. Whatever we have or have not offered for a player, you can guarantee on his track record he will deliver. Have faith we are in safe hands.

I should think it's come from the Blackburn/agent side.
