Mr. Tom
Wonder how many 'Hirst' has scored with jumpers for goalposts. Add about 3000 from 10-year-old me to that tally. All absolute worldies too, according to the commentator*. *who was also 10-year-old me Edited December 28, 2016 by Mr. Tom
vulva
Can't help thinking that the Jamie Vardy autobiography won't be in line for next years various book awards. Is it a colouring in book?

He'd have been 10 when Hirst left, so yeah - perfect age to be star struck. (Although with Hirst, being star struck at any age was acceptable, obviously!) jambler
Vardy did used to pretend he was Hirst. And a lot of the time some of the goals he scored were just like his, even at a young age. His mum still lives in the area of the Yew Tree. Well, Champs now.

Parents weren't allowed to watch so he would come in for a couple of pints. One of the nicest blokes. Just sat with us like he was one of our group and we chatted about everything. The odd person would come in and be starstruck like "OMG WHY ARE YOU SAT WITH DAVID HIRST" I've known Vardy since we were young kids. He's not always been the best behaved. But he's sorted himself out now and look where he is.

Mountain Owl
Reading the book now. Only done first chapter but didn't realise how much a wednesday fan he was. Started going age 5 and modelled everything he did on what he saw from Hirsty. Edited December 28, 2016 by Soul Power
