Guest BULGARIA
its hard to see past Newcastle, but i dont think they will coast it as they will be the team everyone including players and fans will want to beat. Newcastle Brighton anyone from Norwich, Owls, Derby for the playoff winners, and my dark horse would be Brentford. Its going to be another exciting season in what i think is the most competitive and enjoyable league in Europe.
justamatteroftime
i think the handicap betting odds are a better way of looking at this as the odds for most of the team to win the division are meaningless (apart from Leicester ) Newcastle (scr) 18/1 Norwich (+10) 18/1 Aston Villa (+11) 18/1 Derby (+12) 18/1 Brighton (+14) 18/1 Sheffield Wednesday (+14) 18/1 Wolves (+16) 18/1 Cardiff (+21) 18/1 Reading (+21) 18/1 Brentford (+22) 18/1 Ipswich (+22) 18/1 QPR (+22) 18/1 Wigan (+22) 18/1 Bristol City (+24) 18/1 Fulham (+24) 18/1 Huddersfield (+24) 18/1 Leeds (+24) 18/1 Birmingham (+26) 18/1 Nottingham Forest (+26) 18/1 Preston (+26) 18/1 Blackburn (+27) 18/1 Barnsley (+30) 18/1 Rotherham (+34) 18/1 Burton (+37) 18/1 I fancy Norwich (+10) from that list. Last years table (interestingly we only had one point less handicap last season): Brighton 15 104 Burnley 7 100 Middlesbrough 0 89 Hull 5 88 Sheffield Wednesday 13 87 Cardiff 16 84 Birmingham 20 83 Preston 19 81 Ipswich 10 79 Derby 0 78 Rotherham 29 78 Leeds 18 77 Huddersfield 22 73 Brentford 6 71 QPR 10 70 Blackburn 15 70 Reading 18 70 Nottingham Forest 13 68 Fulham 16 67 Wolves 8 66 Bristol City 13 65 Charlton 24 64 MK Dons 19 58 Bolton 23

We were as good as them by the end of last season and I think we're as good as them now
oldishowl
If Wolves are looking to sign a bucket load of Portugese players and sack Jackett then the odds are a bit daft as it will take them a long time to settle down

ChapSmurf
There seems to be quite a few strange ones. Wolves sticks out like a sore thumb. Same odds as Brighton and higher than us?!?! Don't make me laugh. Wigan the same as Bristol City, and Bristol City at 40s? WTF! Birmingham and Preston, who finished quite strong at 60s? Both Villa and Newcastle as the clear front two - neither have a clue how strong this division is and both will find it tough, although I expect them to be up there. I reckon something was being smoked at the time they cobbled this together.
Pompeyowl
If Newcastle get the superstar treatment, like the last time they were at this level, then they're difinitely runaway favourites for me. If they get Championship referees that referee the game like they would all other Championship games, I'd fancy them to finish top six. Villa to finish mid table if they don't get the superstar treatment. How Wolves are so highly rated is beyond me. I reckon Birmingham will have a much better season than they are predicted, and Leeds will struggle against relegation.

s6 owl
Wolves are only as high as they are because of their new mega rich owners as it stands their squad is nowhere near play off standard never mind being good enough to win the league

However they have recruited well for a club of their size/stature and I don't think 40s reflects this.

Even if you like Newcastle to win, those odds are ridiculous. I reckon the order would be a bit different for promotion. I think the bookies would see us us certs to be there or thereabouts, but unlikely to romp through. Whereas Villa for example could easily go either way. Same for Wolves with the takeover. Edit - Looking around confirms that. We are shorter priced than Wolves and Brighton for promotion. Edited July 29, 2016 by whatevertrevor

vulva
Brighton could well finish top 2. Norwich and Newcastle will take 2 of the top 6 spots. As as for an outsider, I can't see one. Derby may struggle. They've had that squad now for a few years, and they still can't get up. Not convinced Pearson is as good as people think he is. In his own mind Pearson is a mix of Mourinho and Shankley. Big head.
