Really. you're Samrit Bunditkitsada! Then you should know as you set up that deal before walking away.

I'm not certain they are the owners - but that was the claim. As said b4 - Pete P facilitated that along with Samrit Bundit...

Nothing to do with Readings owners

Reading have announced they have entered into a partnership with a consortium led by 76-year-old Thai businesswoman Khunying Sasima Srivikorn.

Royals released a statement yesterday afternoon to confirm the news to supporters.

Chairman Sir John Madejski said: “I am delighted with these developments and would like to officially welcome Khunying Sasima to Reading Football Club.

“The club were not intending to make any comment until all the formalities have been completed, but for the sake of clarity we believe it is in everyone’s interest to release this statement now.

â€œUpon the completion of all the necessary procedures we will of course update everyone further, and in the meantime I am sure you share my excitement at the possibilities ahead.â€

Srivikorn added, “I am absolutely delighted to be entering into this partnership with Sir John, and working with a club with such a strong reputation.

â€œI and my fellow investors look forward to supporting Sir John and working towards a successful future together. We still have some formalities to complete and plenty of work ahead of us – but we are excited about what lies ahead.â€

Getreading.co.uk understands the deal will see the consortium take a majority stake in the club.

Although it is being labelled as a ‘partnership’, it will see the consortium take control once everyone involved has passed the Football League’s owners and directors test.

All of the necessary forms have already been filled in and sent to the Football League.

Srivikorn, whose daughter is president of Bangkok FC, has held multiple high-powered positions in Thailand, including being the chairman of the President Hotel and Tower Co. Ltd.

She studied at the Guildhall College of Music and Drama in England before attending Harvard University in the United States.

Other members of the consortium include 39-year-old Samrit Bunditkitsada and Malaysian businessman Robert Tan

Bunditkitsada is the owner of Thai Premier League football team Police United FC and Tan, 72, is a highly successful Malaysian tycoon who built IGB Corp Berhad into one of Malaysia’s largest landlords.
