The least memorable players in Sheffield Wednesday's history

Recommended Posts

We had a right winger, second name Holliday or Halliday in the 60's, can't even find him on the Wiki list of players.

Just seen Rory McArdle mentioned....don't remember him!

Mind you, the wiki list is nowhere near complete, just looked up a number of players that aren't there....Brian Usher et al

Did we have a south african keeper called Steve Evans or something?

Yeah, seem to remember him letting a ball slip under his boots to concede a comedy goal. Can't remember who it was against.

Also remember a keeper called Stuart Jones who we signed from Weston Super Mare.

Wayne Collins

Remember him breaking John Filan's arm against Blackburn.

Against Leicester, Paul Evans. Paul McLaren backpass from the opposition's half, trickled under his boot.

Yep, that was it. It was on some football bloopers DVD that I once got of an Auntie for Christmas.

I remember Paul Evans. Didn't we sign him the day ahead of the Blackburn away leg of the League Cup semi final as we had no other keepers?

That was Paul Heald.

We were somewhat limited for choice in that we had to get a loan keeper at short notice who was not only available but also not cup tied.
